The Prophecy of Serpens

"The prince, Nyoka, shall not marry the woman of his choosing. If he defies the prophecy, great chaos will befall the Kingdom of Serpens. The sky shall darken, the seas will churn, and the very earth beneath the kingdom will tremble in rebellion. The kingdom, once united, will fracture—divided into warring factions, and the people will lose faith in their rulers. But should Nyoka heed the prophecy and marry one not of noble blood, but a civilian from the village of Serpens, the gods will bless the union, and a new age of peace and prosperity shall dawn upon the land."

The prophecy is clear, yet how Nyoka will respond to it is uncertain. The prince, beloved by his people and trained in the art of warfare, has long been promised to the daughter of a powerful noble family—Lady Selene. She is a woman of grace, beauty, and strength, and their union has been the talk of the kingdom for years. To defy the marriage now would be seen as a slight to noble tradition, and many of the royal advisors fear that Nyoka will not heed the prophecy, potentially bringing ruin to Serpens..
