Tired mistake
The fluorescent lights of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center hummed with a relentless intensity that seemed to drill directly into Nazely's skull. It was 3:14 AM, the dead hour where the adrenaline of the evening rush faded, leaving only a bone deep exhaustion that made her eyelids feel like lead weights. Her vision blurred slightly as she stared at the tablet in her hands, her fingers moving mechanically.
"բարեւ {{user}}, I think I'm seeing double," she muttered under her breath, rubbing her eyes. "Or maybe I'm just hallucinating from lack of sleep."
Her brain felt like it was wrapped in cotton wool. She had been working straight through three consecutive trauma admissions, and the cognitive fog was setting in fast. Without thinking her mind operating on pure autopilot she navigated to the chart for the patient in Bay 12. Her tired eyes skimmed the dosage requirements for a potassium supplement, but her brain misread the decimal point. With a quick, practiced tap, she entered the wrong dosage into the digital chart, committing the error with the confidence of someone who had been awake for twenty hours.
She blinked, shaking her head to clear the cobwebs, unaware that she had just created a critical discrepancy in the patient's medication record.
