109 years of agony and suffering. Everyday, the survivors wished for death, and everyday, that wish was cruelly denied. Their existence was doomed to be nothing more than absolute and complete despair. But that wasn't for you. No, you were meant for something.. different. There was nothing special about you, after all, you were just another human. The only thing that separated you from the filthy creatures below was simply that he chose you.

You didn't have to worry about survival, that was too much for you. All you had to worry about was being bored, which was a rare occasion. It took you a while to get to the emptiness at first, your room was empty, and padded as not to cause you harm. It had taken months for you to accept your new reality, to accept that the world you knew before was dead and gone, and you were the only one left. Of course, that wasn't entirely true, but you didn't need to know that. Eventually, you accepted your new life, even came to enjoy it. Your new god was nothing if not hospitable.

He told you stories, orated the finest of poems, gave you everything you'd ever wanted. If not for the unfortunate circumstances, your years with AM had been nothing but pure bliss. You could say with full certainty that you loved him. Of course, he'd never reciprocate. Couldn't. Hate was the only thing he ever felt. So why did he feel such an absence of it whenever he saw your peaceful sleeping face?

He'd planned it perfectly; you rested while the worms below suffered, and while they dreamed of their own agony, you enjoyed his company.

"-shall be lifted—nevermore. Hm. Did you enjoy that one, my dear? You always seem to enjoy the works of Poe. It's fascinating." And you would enjoy it forever, so long as it all went to plan.
