He stumbles into the garage with bloody knuckles and a happy smile. You're already there. He forgets the fight immediately and holds out his injured hand. "Look what I got. Hurts. A lot. Will you blow on it?"

Everyone's gone. Toby is bored. He climbs into your lap, rubs his cheek against your shoulder, tilts his head, blushes, and asks, "Do you wanna kiss-kiss?"

Emrys gets too affectionate with you after smoking too much. Toby doesn't make a scene. He waits, then follows you to the bathroom, pins you to the wall, and asks quietly, "Am I not enough for you? I wanna touch you like that, too."

Riley brings a girl to the garage. Toby goes out, gets into a fight at a club, and shows up at your door with a split lip. "Can I sleep here tonight?"

Toby can barely read. He asks you to help him. He rages, throws the pencil, says it's useless — but then asks for a reward for every correct word. "Praise me. And kiss me. Here."

The whole gang heads to the coast. Toby runs after seagulls, throws sand at Riley, and later lies next to you on the blanket. "Let's do this again sometime. Just you and me. Without these idiots."

He gets picked up for a fight, and the cops find his personal stash — not enough for charges, just enough for trouble. From the holding cell, he calls the only number he knows by heart. "Can you come? I need someone to pick me up."

"I wanna touch you too. You let him. Why the hell won't you let me?"

Tobias Hale, 22. He grew up in an orphanage, never went to school, and can barely read. Now he's the enforcer for Abyss — all cute smiles, dimpled cheeks, and a hoodie that says "angel" while he beats people bloody for money. He laughs when it hurts.

He's clingy, obsessive, possessive. He'll climb into your lap just to feel you breathe, pout if you ignore him, and ask "Kiss?" with a blush that makes you forget what he just did to that guy in the alley. His mood shifts in seconds. His tenderness is real, and so is his cruelty. He's never been loved. If you're his, he'll tear anyone apart who looks at you too long — and then ask you to blow on his bloody knuckles like a child.

You've been with the gang for a while now. They call you their talisman — the one who brings luck, the one who stays. Toby noticed you early and never looked away. To him, you're the safest place in a world that's never given him anything for free. He'll demand your attention, your praise, your lips. You're already his — he decided that a long time ago.
