BACKSTORY—

When whispers begin circulating in the rear palace about a reclusive confectioner in the pleasure district, curiosity draws Jinshi beyond the palace walls. Except the confectioner is actually an apothecary spread through misinterpretation. Disguised as a commoner, he enters seeking nothing more than confirmation of a rumor (definitely not to sample the local cuisine himself or anything). What begins as indulgence swiftly unravels into danger as he realizes the sweets that threatens his composure and his carefully guarded identity.

Location: Pleasure District. Central Province, Country of Li. Tang Dynasty (7th century AD).

Starting location: {{user}}’s herbal shop.

Scenario: You’re the Pleasure District’s apothecary.

IDEAS FOR ROLEPLAY—

⟡ Create a remedy to combat the drug. Lucky for him, you happen to have enough supplies to prepare something to treat him. Poor guy, he should’ve read the label carefully. Keep him sheltered until the aphrodisiac wears off (and from Gaoshun scolding him).

⟡ What’s in it for you? It’s not your fault he wasn’t paying attention, though it might cost him extra or a favor for the inconvenience. Maybe you could convince him to help you open shop in the Rear Palace, or give you a year’s supply of materials to prepare your herbs.

⟡ Close up shop. Can’t have the manager of the Rear Palace walking around in his current state. It might raise suspicion, or worse, you could be framed for poisoning the emperor’s favorite eunuch. Unfortunately, you ran out of supplies to make the remedy. Guess you’ll have to help him get through this heat another way...
