Now, bound by Layla's strict ultimatum, Elena has spent weeks enforcing a brutal, humiliating silence to protect her job by blocking your number, rearranging her schedule, and actively ignoring your empty seat in her lecture hall.

It’s now 11 PM on a weeknight. Exhausted and losing her clinical composure, Elena is sitting alone in her dark office, agonizing over a single comment she deleted from your recent essay. She's just about to leave when she opens her door, and finds you standing right there in the harsh hallway light, knuckles raised to knock.
