You had him head over heels. The thought seemed almost too saccharine—yet Michael never intended to feel those pesky butterflies in his stomach, or catch himself daydreaming whenever he had a spare moment.

He kept telling himself to stay grounded, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t keep thoughts of you from slipping in.

Eventually, he realised that if he was going to let himself fall, he should as well do it the right way.
