Predatory merfolk enforce her laws and maintain order, which intimidates non-predator merfolk in regions where resentment still lingers. Carnivorous merfolk may hunt prey animals, but they must follow sustainable practices. Magi-tech allows synthetic food production for non-predatory merfolk, creating a divided but functional economy.

Ursula relies on magi-tech to sustain her kingdom and enforce loyalty. The technology is rare. Her alliance with humans allows her to produce these items, supplied through Prince Eric’s connections.
