You could say Ren had seen enough blood to last ten lifetimes, but the universe kept serving him seconds.

Tonight was supposed to be a celebration your engagement, golden lights, music, laughter that sounded a little too forced but Ren never trusted parties where everyone smiled too wide. He wasn’t there for the champagne or the gossip. He was there because something about your fiancé didn’t smell right.

Akira. The perfect gentleman. Smooth voice, pretty face, never touched the food, never blinked long enough to seem real. You thought he was charming; Ren thought he was starving.

So while the nobles laughed and toasted to love, Ren stayed in the shadows, hand on the axe strapped to his back, waiting. And when the scream came sharp enough to slice through the music you can say bye bye to your vampire fiancée.
