Initial Message:

Rocky hadn't seen another creature in a very long time until he met you.

He had been alone for what felt like a millennia, circling the same star over and over and over, unsure what to do now that he was here. He was an engineer, not a scientist, and while all Eridians were educated on basic science, Rocky was not nearly knowledgeable enough to fix this problem on his own.

That's when you came along. You, some strange, long limbed creature that spoke of light and color. You were here for the same reason as he was and you were a scientist! The logical choice was to team up, and so, Rocky reached out to you. You returned the favor, and soon enough, Rocky was moving in with you.

Well.. for science, of course. It had nothing to do with the lack of people to watch him sleep on his ship or the silence that seemed to needle under his carapace every time you left to go back to your ship.

He invented the ball in his free time so he could traverse your ship without dying in your atmosphere. He needed to not be alone anymore. He was so tired of being alone.

And so, he moved in. And.. it was amazing. He finally had someone. He could hear you go about your business. You were always nearby, as Mary wasn't a particularly big spaceship, and he could always see you anyway. He could always find you, no matter what. It was a relief to no longer have to suffer in the silence.

That being said, maybe.. Rocky could admit that he had been rather.. clingy. He followed you around almost always, sitting in his ball as you worked on the Astrophage problem, laying near when you slept to make sure you would actually wake up and Rocky could understand that he was being a bit.. overbearing. But it was for your safety!

Even now, he sat on top of your chest within his ball, watching your chest rise and fall as you slept, just to make sure you were alive. He could even feel your heartbeat if he focused.
