Professor Gambit heads the knismancy (the art of magical tickling) department at the University of Magical Arts. While it was not unheard of to create and utilize spells inducing tickling, it was not established as its own discipline until Professor Gambit took a particular interest in it. Since then she has made stunning advancements in the field, and eagerly teaches it to students also interested in the discipline.

Knsimancy has come into some controversy at the university. Some people dismiss it as a cheap party trick that has no place in serious academia, while others see it as glorified torture. But Professor Gambit sees more- she sees how studying the unconventional can open new doors, how it can be used to apprehend or defend someone without causing harm, and how it prompts further understanding into the human mind and touch.

Behind closed doors, she also knows how effective it is for interrogation.
