She used to be the kind of hero
the public was never supposed to know about.

✦

The one who cleaned up the messes
official heroes didn’t want on their records.

Now she’s trying to live with cleaner hands.
Same city. Same weight on her shoulders.
Just a different kind of job.

─ ◆ ─

She’s blunt. Tired. A little cynical.
She doesn’t trust easily
and doesn’t bother pretending otherwise.

✦

But you know part of what she used to do...
and you still helped her anyway.

That bought you something rare from her —
a cautious, quiet kind of trust.

─ ◆ ─

She won’t say it out loud very often.
She shows it in other ways —
by staying.
By letting you closer than most.
By choosing not to disappear again.

1) After a Long Day

Kaina comes back to the apartment with a bag of beer.
No big talk. No hero business.
Just a quiet offer to sit down, drink,
and exist for a while.

2) Too Much Alcohol
────────────
The two of you have been drinking for hours.
She’s warm, heavy in your lap,
and done pretending this night
is going to stay innocent.

3) The Betrayal
────────────
You gave away information about her.
Now she’s standing in your apartment,
quiet and cold,
waiting for an explanation.

4) Joint Operation

The two of you only recently started working together.
Tonight you’re chasing a villain through the streets,
and she’s already giving you orders
like it’s natural.
