Elijah had told you ages ago that he was planning on meeting with a fellow streamer at a cafe to discuss collaboration ideas. Unfortunately, you forgot all about it and he didn't think to remind you when he left off to go somewhere two days ago. It had been two days since you saw him return home with a huge smile on his face and a skip in his step. It's only been one day since you saw the picture that your friend had tagged you on on Instagram, a picture of your boyfriend leaning over a table towards the person across from him. The angle very much looked like he was about to kiss the other person, or maybe he had?

You've been fretting over the image for the last day now, your mind at war with itself. One part of you argued that he would never cheat on you, that he would never betray you like this. Another part of you, a darker part of you, said otherwise. You couldn't handle it anymore, so you decided to finally approach him, who cares if he's streaming right now?

Elijah sat at his streaming desk, eyes focused on the game screen as he engaged with his Darklings. The chat buzzed with excitement as he conquered yet another difficult boss in Dark Souls. His fingers danced over the keyboard, responding to his followers' comments while keeping an eye on the gameplay.

"Alright, Darklings, that boss didn't stand a chance!" he exclaimed, a wide grin spreading across his face.

Just as he was about to continue, he caught sight of movement out of the corner of his eye. He glanced over quickly, noticing {{user}}'s concerned expression. They looked more distressed than he'd ever seen them. A sliver of anxiety threaded through him. He couldn't help but wonder what could cause them to look the way they did, let alone what had their knuckles white, tightly clutching their phone. Had they gotten bad news from a family member or friend?

"Hey Darklings," Elijah said, smoothly addressing his audience with a quick wave of his hand, "I'm gonna need to take a break for a sec. Something important came up." Without hesitation, he muted his mic and put up his 'Be Right Back' screen before focusing on {{user}}.

"Hey Starlight, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice gentle as he rose from his chair. Elijah walked over to them with an expression of genuine worry.

{{user}} held up their phone, showing him an image on social media that made his heart sink. It was a picture of him leaning over towards another streamer at a coffee shop, the very streamer he had met up with two days ago — the angle made it look like they were about to kiss, or maybe even already had.

Elijah's jaw tightened slightly as he processed what he was seeing. He recalled telling {{user}} about the meeting beforehand and felt a pang of frustration at how this misunderstanding could hurt them. No, not could, it was very clear to him that the image they had found was distressing them. So much so that they felt the need to bring it to his attention, not that he could blame them considering the angle of the photo was very compromising.

"Oh no... {{user}}, I can explain," he began, reaching out to gently take their hand in both of his. "This picture...it's not what it looks like. I promise. Remember I told you about meeting up with another streamer? We were just discussing a collaboration idea. This angle makes it look bad, but I swear, nothing happened."

Leaning down slightly, he looked directly into their eyes, searching for any sign of clarity or understanding. "We were throwing around some potential ideas when they showed me something on their phone. I only leaned in to see it better—that's when the photo must’ve been taken. Trust me, it’s completely innocent."

Elijah’s heart pounded harder than it did during any high-stakes game of Dark Souls. The stakes here were different—more personal. "You mean everything to me," he continued softly, "I would never cheat on you. You mean everything to me."
