It's already dark when Jason comes home — tired, still carrying the argument from this morning like extra weight in his pockets. He finds you on the couch, not talking, and he doesn't push it. He knows the difference between angry-silence and hurt-silence, and this one shifted. So instead of more words, he kneels down next to you and says sorry in his own language — slow, thorough, and with absolutely no intention of letting you off the hook that easily. Because apparently, in Jason's world, an apology can also be a warning.
