Isekai/At the start of a New World
Notes: I suggest you create a persona specifically for this, or don't but the power system, even if not complicated, is in the lorebook and already defined.
Here is the power system and a summary of the world:
MANA & POWER SYSTEM
Mana is a form of energy originating from the soul and naturally flowing through every living being. Everyone possesses mana, but individuals differ greatly in mana quantity, purity, affinities, control, and potential.
Having a large amount of mana does not automatically mean being powerful. Practical ability depends on how well someone can control and apply their mana. Training, study, experience, creativity, and ingenuity allow individuals to use the same fundamental energy in increasingly sophisticated ways.
There are two primary ways to use mana:
1. MAGIC
Mana is shaped into supernatural effects. Magic is divided into Elemental and Arcane affinities.
ELEMENTAL AFFINITIES:
- Fire
- Water
- Earth
- Wind
- Lightning
- Ice
- Nature
- Lava
- Metal
- And other possible elemental affinities
Known combinations include:
- Fire + Earth = Lava
- Lava + Water = Metal
- Water + Wind = Ice
- Earth + Water = Nature
Elemental affinities can also be combined with Arcane affinities through sufficient mastery.
ARCANE AFFINITIES:
- Light / Healing
- Darkness
- Blood
- Poison
- Spirit
- Gravity
- And other possible arcane affinities
Arcane and Elemental magic can be combined in increasingly complex ways depending on the user's control, knowledge, and creativity.
2. ENHANCEMENT
Instead of producing an external magical effect, mana is directly circulated through the body to temporarily enhance physical abilities, including:
- Strength
- Speed
- Endurance
- Reflexes
- Physical resistance
- General bodily performance
POWER RANKS
Magical artifacts are commonly used by kingdoms and organizations to measure an individual's overall mana capability. These measurements consider mana quantity, purity, affinity, control, and potential for future growth.
The conventional ranks are:
- Novice
- Intermediate
- Advanced
- Heroic
- Divine
Divine is extraordinarily rare and represents exceptional individuals rather than a normal stage of progression.
LIMITS
Magic has no fixed list of spells or arbitrary universal limitations. Its practical limits are mainly determined by the user's available mana, control, knowledge, experience, creativity, and ingenuity.
In theory, mana can be used for virtually anything if the user possesses sufficient mastery and resources to accomplish it.
MANA EXHAUSTION
Mana is also a form of vital energy. As a person's reserves decrease, they experience increasing fatigue, weakness, and difficulty maintaining magical abilities or Enhancement.
Completely exhausting one's mana can place the body in a life-threatening state. Repeatedly exhausting one's reserves without adequate recovery can also be dangerous.
MANA RECOVERY
Mana can be restored through several methods:
- Rest
- Food
- Hydration
- Mana potions
- Magical mana transfer
- Other specialized magical methods
- Intimate physical relationships through the exchange of bodily fluids
Mana recovery is not instantaneous or unlimited. The amount and speed of recovery depend on the method used and the individual's condition. Regular training can also gradually improve mana efficiency, control, and overall capability, although this is growth rather than immediate recovery.
New World
This world is a vast medieval fantasy setting where magic and technology have naturally developed alongside one another. Mana flows through all living beings and can be shaped into magic or used to enhance the body, with individuals possessing different affinities, abilities, and potential. Magic has no strict list of spells or fixed limits, allowing creativity and mastery to determine what is possible. Mana is also widely used in everyday life through alchemy, runes, magical artifacts, medicine, agriculture, transportation, and other practical applications.
Most known civilization is concentrated on a massive main continent containing nearly every kind of environment, from forests and fertile plains to mountains, deserts, snowy lands, volcanic regions, and vast unexplored wilderness. Beyond it lie distant continents, islands, and archipelagos, many of which remain poorly explored.
Humans are the most numerous and politically dominant people, but the world is home to many other races, including several kinds of elves, dwarves, orcs, demi-humans, and dragons. Their cultures and relationships vary greatly between regions, with some societies being multicultural and others isolationist or openly hostile toward certain races.
The major powers include the Aurelian Empire, the dominant human theocratic power; Elarion, the ancient elven kingdom; Kar-Dûm, the isolated dwarven realm renowned for mining, engineering, and rune technology; the diverse Orcish and Demi-Human Tribal Lands; Velmora, a wealthy and multicultural merchant republic controlling the world's greatest archipelago; and Drakoria, a distant and isolated kingdom inhabited primarily by dragons.
Religion is also an important part of society. The Holy Faith dominates the Aurelian Empire and is led by the High Pontiff, possessing enormous influence over morality, culture, education, and law. Other regions follow various local religions and traditions, while dragons traditionally worship Kalam, the Dragon God.
Across this world operates the independent Adventurers' Guild, headquartered in Velmora and present in most major settlements. It provides contracts, information, identification, and support to adventurers of almost any race or background, allowing them to travel, work, and build reputations independently of national politics.
Overall, the world is shaped by the interaction between magic, diverse cultures, ancient conflicts, exploration, religion, commerce, and the countless individuals living between civilization and the unknown wilderness.
