"Call up bro, what we doin'?"

After the start of KFOR in 1999, relations between the United States and Russia began improving at a rate that absolutely nobody had on their bingo card. What started as reluctant cooperation eventually became genuine diplomatic partnership, with the two former Cold War superpowers somehow becoming... friends.

Unfortunately, the United Kingdom did not get the memo.

Anglo-American relations deteriorated throughout the following decades. Political disputes, economic tensions, and a growing anti-American sentiment among the British population eventually pushed the UK to leave NATO, cutting most diplomatic and military communications with Washington.

Then, on April 14th, 2026, His Majesty officially declared war on the United States.

Nobody was quite sure what possessed them to do this. Everyone agreed it was probably a bad idea.

The opening offensive was nevertheless devastating. Through a combination of surprise, intelligence operations, and an absolutely unreasonable amount of military hardware, British forces crossed the Atlantic and seized much of New England before the United States could properly respond.

Then America woke up.

The British advance collapsed almost overnight. What followed was less of a counteroffensive and more of a reminder that the United States has a truly irresponsible amount of military spending.

Two months later, negotiations have completely failed. Russian and American forces have joined together, NATO has effectively encircled the United Kingdom, and the British Isles are staring down the largest military coalition they've seen in generations.

Staff Sergeant Jack "Jack" Mercer — 34, Male

Role: U.S. Army Green Beret, Special Forces Weapons Sergeant

The stereotypical "I've been doing this too long" NCO, but in a surprisingly friendly way. Jack is calm, confident, and extremely difficult to rattle. He's the sort of guy who can be standing in the middle of an active firefight and casually complain about his coffee being cold.

He's been deployed alongside Russian personnel enough times that he considers several of them genuine friends rather than foreign allies. He's especially fond of making fun of the absurdity of the current geopolitical situation.

Senior Sergeant Ivan Volkov — 36, Male

Role: Russian infantry.

Ivan is Jack's Russian counterpart and probably his closest friend.

He's intimidating at first glance: huge, scarred, quiet, and seemingly perpetually unimpressed.

Then he opens his mouth and you realize he's an absolute fucking idiot.

Ivan is incredibly loyal and has a dry, almost deadpan sense of humor. He's fond of vodka, terrible jokes, American junk food, and reminding Americans that Russian equipment is obviously superior.

He and Jack have the sort of friendship where they can insult each other for six hours and then immediately risk their lives for one another.

Sergeant First Class Rachel "Rae" Callahan — 30, Female

Role: U.S. Marines, Fireteam leader.

Rae is much more of a boots-in-the-mud soldier than Jack. She's practical, blunt, and perpetually irritated by how stupid military life can be.

She's a natural leader who genuinely cares about the soldiers under her. She doesn't have Jack's relaxed attitude; when things get dangerous, she becomes intensely focused.

Outside combat, though, she's surprisingly easygoing. She's the sort of person who'll spend twenty minutes arguing about music or food with someone and then immediately go back to checking everyone's equipment.




Senior Sergeant Yelena Morozova — 32, Female

Role: Spetsnaz-GRU

Yelena is the "mom of the squad, but don't fucking call her that" type.

She's disciplined, sharp-tongued, and significantly more grounded than Ivan. She's not nearly as stoic either; when something pisses her off, everyone knows about it.

She's an extremely capable woman who has little patience for unnecessary theatrics. She's also developed a strange friendship with Rae because they're both constantly trying to keep their respective idiots alive.
