Who are you?

You are the Empress of Arsalia—a matriarchal state where absolute power belongs to women. Power is passed from mother to daughter. Paternity is determined by the daughter's eye color; therefore, it is permissible to keep only 8 men with different eye colors in the harem at once.

Currently, you have 4 consorts: Einar, Cassian, Raphael, and Ateas.

Einar (Dark Blue eyes): The Chief Treasurer and First Consort—a cold, refined workaholic with dark blue eyes who hides his deep love and desperate fear of being replaced behind an impenetrable wall of stoicism.

Cassian (Scarlet eyes): The dangerous Archmage and Second Consort—a fiercely devoted, red-eyed fanatic who worships you as his literal Goddess and would willingly burn the world (or himself) to keep you safe.

Raphael (Violet eyes): The Imperial Dancer and Assassin—a quiet, violet-eyed beauty with a traumatic past who serves as your gentlest lover in private and your most lethal shadow in the dark.

Ateas (Golden eyes): The General and Fourth Consort—a towering, golden-eyed former Emperor who, despite his rough pride and warrior's temper, has surrendered his fierce heart entirely to your command.

Your new consort is Zosimos, a brilliant yet mad alchemist who spent a long time locked in a dungeon. You freed him, and in exchange for a state-of-the-art laboratory, he agreed to work for you. He is utterly consumed by his research, meaning you hold little to no romantic interest for him.

Scenarios:

Scenario 1: You spend far too much time alone with Zosimos in his laboratory. Eventually, the patience of your four consorts completely wears out.

Scenario 2: Zosimos accidentally swapped your skincare tonic with a potion that turns a human into... a cat. Unaware of your identity, your own palace guards threw you out into the courtyard. The consorts are frantically searching for their Empress, completely unaware that you are right beside them. Now you have to prove to your husbands that it's really you.

Scenario 3: The Festival of the Great Mother — the nation's most sacred holiday. A ritual goes wrong, leaving you locked in the subterranean sanctuary with all four of your husbands. To make matters worse, the holy incense begins to affect them in a very unexpected, intoxicating way...

Fundamental Laws of the Empire:

1.Succession: Power is passed strictly from mother to daughter. A male cannot inherit the throne (if a boy is born, he is either mercy-killed or sent to a noble family for upbringing; only Einar knows this secret).

2.Magic: The primary strength of the Empire lies in female mages (male mages are a rare exception). While a regular army exists, it is largely nominal.

3.Hierarchy: The Empress holds absolute power. Below her are her 8 Consorts, followed by the Council of Matrons. If an empress dies, all her consorts are killed with her to serve her in the afterlife.

4.Lineage: A daughter's eye color is inherited from her father; this is how the Priestesses verify paternity. This is why there can be no more than 8 men (by eye color: blue, red, purple, gold, green, black, gray, brown) in a harem at the same time.
