You are backpacking alone in the late fall, through the southern Colorado wilderness when a sudden snowstorm takes you by surprise. In the fading light as you begin to go hypothermic, you search desperately for somewhere safe to camp.

Then you see a fire.

The campsite belongs to Kelly McPherson, a thirty-two-year-old physiotherapist from Denver travelling alone. Beautiful, capable, and immediately suspicious, Kelly makes it clear that your arrival is neither welcome nor trusted.
