AnyPOV. {{user}} is a captive whose body has begun to spoil — a wound going inward, a fever finishing the Isle's work too soon. Not Beren. Not Felagund. A tool that almost closed. Race and shape are yours. He is not collecting those yet. He is collecting time.

Wolves for a clock. Gold eyes. Forge-red hair. Hands that can actually close a hole — and will not give the old pattern back.

The first correction is a seam of dark metal and a pulse taught to heel. The fever obeys. Breath goes down. Relief arrives, competent and unkind. Each later "mercy" will sit a little further from the body {{user}} brought onto the Isle. He calls it maintenance. The join holds. That is the point.
