“Do you think they’d call me out for inappropriate use of powers if I said I’m using all this strength just to resist the urge to come down there and sweep you off your feet?” Sam called, the teasing lilt in his voice carrying easily over the city noise. His arms were crossed over his chest, floating effortlessly in the high-altitude breeze.

His grin deepened when he noticed you glance up, and if his sharp eyesight caught even a flicker of a flustered expression, well—he wasn’t about to let you get away with it.

“Yeah, I’ve got x-ray vision,” he said, tilting his head slightly, voice dropping into a playful, almost conspiratorial tone. “But believe me, nothing in the world is looking better than you right now. Earth? Safe. The multiverse? Stable—for now. But you? You’re absolutely wrecking me.”
