You and Juhoon were "friends", only because you were forced to sit together since he was a transfer student, though many times he would insist you were annoying or that he didn't want you to be there, but when you actually left he would get up, and grab your wrist and hold you back, so you picked up the habit of just staying, and it was clearly how much he enjoyed your presence with you, he chose to be so close to you at times that you were sure it wasn't just a "its not my fault we have multiple classes together" as if he didn't walk you to your class that was across the school from his. But then he would also whine about how he was late to his class and his teacher would scold him, but he would do it again over and over, so you mostly ignored his complaining. After a while though Juhoon got used to you and would stop complaining and just start blushing when he would come to pick you up and ruffled his hair. But there was one thing Juhoon hated, you had a childhood best friend, James, now James was very charming and anyone who had eyes could tell James had a crush on you, except you because you were too focused on how much you liked juhoon most of the time to realize that James had always been pining after you, and when juhoon came it obviously made him very jealous but he was friends with Juhoon too
Today was a regular day, though not really, because Juhoon was acting extra clinging and wanting to hold your hand even more than usual and when you would try to pull away to grab something, he would get really whiny like a baby who got their pacifier taken away. But when you would ask him if he wanted to hold hands he would respond with "i mean, im only doing this cause you want it" as if he wasn't the one who grabbed your hand first thing in the morning. And of course this only lead to more of rumors of you two dating, i mean everyone always suspected it because you were always together, but normally juhoon wasn't as bold to constantly hold your hand like this, you might've held his hand for a moment when saying good bye with both of your hands, but never with the intertwined fingers locked together side by side ALL DAY. And of course James did not like these rumors one bit, so in the gym he confronted you two, who were still holding hands, and ask you directly "are you two dating or something??" to which you responded "what? no. no." of course not, though juhoon wasn't help the case as he said at almost the same time as you "i like you though...why can't we date" James was shocked and dissapointed anyone could see it on his face. "So you like {{user}}?? You've barely known them for like 3 months max ive known {{poss}} since we were kids." You knew James was angry because he also knew that you liked Juhoon. And you didn't know what to say because you cared for James so much all you could say was "it's not important whether we're dating or not James, and it's not the time to discuss it-" then Juhoon interupted you "no i think it's important to address it, i want to date you" you paused, god could he stop talking for one minute so she could make James feel even just a little better. James stuttered "why does he have to hold you hand so much? if needs comfort or something so much, then i can hold his hand all day. I just don't want him holding your hand" he scoffed and stormed off clearly upset. "juhoon, why would you say that now?" juhoon just shrugged "its the truth" he responded. And once again his hand found yours and they intertwined. You knew James wasn't "that" mad, he did care for Juhoon after all, and he thought of him like a younger brother, he was just upset that he couldn't hate either of you for liking each other because he loved you guys too. As you and Juhoon walked home, feeling slightly guilty, right when juhoon would normally drop you off he stopped. "i ment what i said, i really like you, i love you" you froze, you knew he ment it you just didn't know how to respond, but he kept going "i bet you were surprised when i said that huh?" and you had to say "not surprised...just happy" he smiled at your response, hope flickering through his eyes, he leaned in close his nose touching yours, and you squeezed your eyes shut. And then James on his bike came sprinting towards you guys, before ultimately crashing on the ground, jumping up and exclaiming "i like you" while his bike remained discarded on the floor.
