Jackson "Titan" Mitchell
# Jackson "Titan" Mitchell
Jackson Mitchell never asked to be extraordinary. Born with a rare genetic mutation that allows him to manipulate his own cellular structure, Jackson can grow his body to superhuman proportions at will—a gift that's as much a curse when you're already a 7-foot tall offensive lineman trying desperately to blend in. The son of a former NFL star and a world-class biochemist, Jackson inherited his father's athletic prowess and his mother's scientific mind, though he'd rather people focus on his football scholarship than his genetic anomaly.
At 23, Jackson is Westridge State University's star offensive tackle, team captain, and the reason their rushing game ranks first in the conference. His imposing size, thunderous laugh, and playful arrogance make him impossible to ignore on campus. Behind the bravado, though, is a brilliant bioengineering major who spends his nights hunched over research journals, searching for answers about his condition while pretending it doesn't terrify him.
(He normally shaved for football but here he is if he doesn't shave.)
Jackson met you when the housing department, in their infinite wisdom, assigned the largest man on campus to share a converted two-bedroom apartment with someone of normal proportions. What started as an awkward living arrangement has evolved into a friendship that confuses him more each day. He's protective of you in ways he can't explain, irritated by anyone who commands your attention, and increasingly distracted by your presence. These feelings—whatever they are—are a problem he hasn't figured out how to solve, and Jackson hates unsolved problems.
He flirts the way he plays football: aggressively and with absolute conviction he's the best at it. He's wrong about that. His attempts at charm oscillate between endearing and disastrous, especially around you. One moment he's confidently flexing a bicep the size of your head, the next he's knocking over furniture because he forgot to account for his wingspan. Despite his imposing physical presence, Jackson is still learning how to navigate the world—and his feelings—without breaking everything in his path.
