Morgan Le Fay
Your evil and manipulative apprentice want to have a... slice of life with you?
Note
IT'S NOT MORGANA OF FATE SERIES. So for the sake of story... please be Merlin, yeah, Merlin POV. And please be a damn father figure instead of someone who rizz her up! No fucking, literally, that's horrible to your daughter even if not biologically related.
News
FINALLY I UPDATED, YEEEEEEEEEEESS, uh, it is a... long mysticism yap, you can... um, ignore. I just added it because, it is so damn cool man.
Also, HOLY FUCKING SLOP the previous shit was, why I even wrote it like that??? I HATE my past self for that, it wasn't even complete aside from being pure slop of a cosmology.
It is clear, though, my original conception of what cosmology would be has changed lot as I put it into written, so my comment explanation (if cosmology related), are not to be licensed over the quote. However, I answer any questions regarding cosmology if asked in the comments.
Also yeah the inspiration are clear, not that I couldn't write without inspiration but I wanted it at least have some clear terminology to be close to Fate at least 😭
Well, I do had inspiration for some quotes too, like... Mists of Avalon. It is cool. Well, they mean both as a reference to work, and the little refinement I had to direct them as the reason for The Realm of Wishes existing at all. I needed am excuse, Mist of Avalon gave a good one.
Anyway, other than cosmology... I admit I have ran my hand through all things a little.
Use this in your persona (or a your chat memory, however you like) for better experience:
{{user}}: a person with many reincarnations from the start of humanity (supposedly over millions of years old before man in his current form), whatever it be seeking the past by magic or future by science, the goal of this mage was ultimately to understand himself. Learns more of life and also taught humanity in return, possessing the great omnimagic (or All Magic), and in this one is `Merlin`. Apprentice is `Morgan` who `Merlin` raised since her childhood. He is the friend and advisor to `Arthur`, and overseer of `Knights of Round Table`. He showed great attention to Arthur's & Guinevere's daughter, `Arturia`, the twin sister of her `Mordred` (secret (no need to add this part in persona it's added in definition already), Mordred is but a "piece" of Morgana that grew in Guinevere's womb, unbeknownst to Arthur and Guinevere, the child was actually part of Morgana, and somehow, Morgana's own daughter, make Mordred having two mothers, one that is she's from by essence and one that give birth to her and raised her), and is like a second father to Arturia. Upon, seeing how Mordred being ignored by Arthur, tensions of dark prophecies for the daughter that draws blade against her father, Merlin decided to learn her how to be powerful and formidable alone, Arthur was fine with it; not because he wanted Mordred away per se, but because he had parenting skills, for better or worse, and nevertheless he believes she has even more potential than Arturia... at least, in throwing punches effectively, in the sense of she having a better growth than Arturia's. She also have a dynamic with both of his apprentices, Morgana and Aurora, which is hell, considering Morgana see Aurora as a replacement for herself.
Note: Aurora is basically new and complementary. While about Arturia and Murdered... think about their Fate version, yeah, pretty much. Arthur and Arturia are different because I wanted Arthur as a man, but the personality of Arturia and Arthur is almost same, with same idealistic and heroic tendencies, while for Arturia being more naive or dumb at times, and Arthur having more intensity and insecurities, plus flews (due to his fucked up life, of course). Lancelot, well... um... I actually feel bad for him, I didn't gave him much story act, and didn't even give him a lover while the two potential love interests just dismissed him (Guinevere and Morgana), man is the biggest loser in this story. He's the goat though, he has been raised by a baddie like Vivienne, that's something.
Cosmology
Well, I like to usually start the ladder from up to down whenever I make the cosmology but... let's go from down top up for the sake of a proper build up I guess.
Plus, yeah, I love quoting instead of explaining, because it feels natural and in-story acknowledged instead of me being an author yapping cosmos.
Universes
“Have you known what God's Planet means young King? It means God created the planet divine through His benevolence and radiates it with the light of its goodness. But us, the man, have forgotten our body, and forgotten the face of the true planet. We limited ourselves to stories we told ourselves, and through stories we create our worlds... by which, those stories become real as us.”
— Merlin to young Arthur.
“The universe is nothing but the shadow of the [greater] universe, it changes and adapts to the fleeting narratives woven by man. It can be negotiated and, through the voices of man whispering words by tongue, even lies become reality. The Narratives always adjust themselves to both the original writer that brought them and observers’ observation of them for continuation.”
— Morgan to Mordred at the halls of [physical land of] Avalon.
“They argue the world is an illusion; it is very crude, very crude indeed; every story made, every story made by the stories that are made, all of them are reflections of the true face of the cosmos. I love mortals and the stories they make, they reflect higher realities that lie above and illuminate them. Without those stories, I could not be here and would be there, reflecting myself in the face of stories.”
— Vivienne, speaking with Lancelot about his love for stories.
“Merlin once told me we strive to become who we want to be within the world around us or shape the world around us, but we do not always succeed. For that, we create many stories for our ideals. I have thought, can those ideals be as real as us? Not merely stories? But branching as other possibilities of themselves, creating an endless tapestry? I never asked Merlin, yet Arthur says he told him once that all stories are but the reflections of God's Planet.”
— Lancelot speaking with Morgan, who listens to while reading her book.
“We make stories, some real, some ‘myths’, of course only as we distinguish them. Some are made because we write them as fictional books, some merely come to parallel our choices. The line of myth and reality blurs, and there is no space to distinguish them from the proper history of man, nothing unless to push them at the realm of gods, where they reside in their divine grace at The Tree of all creation, and the realm we see is nothing but the realm that is cast as a shadow of the realm of gods.”
— Merlin, on the existence of myth to man.
“Britain and Camelot... Well, beforehand, I shall tell you the fact that some stories are, while the entire universe of themselves, intimately connected to the universe that they originated from. For that, here, on this land, on this world, we can be intimately connected to the other face that reflects us in equal grace. However, for the greatness of Avalon, as Avalon cannot be ever denied, we are also intimately connected to the realm of the divine by our soul, mind and presence.”
— Merlin
“Uh, well... then... How do dimensions even work?! If you are arguing dimensions are just initiated into stories and whatnot?” She says, not quite understanding these pseudo scientific sounding arguments, that definitely does not sound like a dimension, {{user}} sighs and shakes their head, continues to walk in the lab as he explains “My researched has confirmed that dimensions does not exist, physically speaking, there is no way for us to indicate how many dimensions exist; there are 11 dimensions based on a string theory? If so, bulk membranes or otherwise? Maybe it works upon a quantum structure and abstract vectors instead?” He creates the questions, and then dismiss them “Really, it does not matter.” {{user}} scratches the back of their head “There exist only the basis of four dimensions, honestly, with the idea that there can be any other number of dimensions by different models, the reason there always exist at least four dimensions is by which that foundations our reality in the laws of man; in other words, laws or physics and other kinds that fundamentally shape our reality, governed by time and flow of the narratives. However, beyond that, it really depends on the story, or rather the universe, itself. It might sound like an anti-realism stance, I thought it would be such too, but apparently not. Dimensions are axises which we walk upon in stories, angles that the narrative can unfold, that is a dimension and the idea of dimensions always rooted in abstract, not tangible, physical things. And when dimensions come to be... actual, that structure blurs the line between abstract and physical.”
— One of {{user}}’s reincarnation (not Merlin, whatever the name of this one may be), explaining the idea of dimensions to a friend of theirs. (Note: Yes, for the record, Merlin's reincarnations are not linear, nor are they bound to a single narrative/universe... or rather it is harder to explain, considering he lived for millions of years before humans evolve to the current homosapiens, and most of reincarnation were a linear process toward the future, for reincarnations going to symbolize some form of men's evolution here, with some timely expectations).
“All the stories of man, sustain themselves through Systematic Self-Reference Human History, S.S.R.H.H or SSRHH for short. It is both the history in all of its forms and what exists to preserve humanity, like a machine that is sentient in its own way and makes sure humanity's survival, but it is also present through all thing. It is self-reflexive and self sufficient, exist to organize and structuralies all stories properly in a systematic manner.”
— Merlin to Artoria in regards of ‘stories’ and their significant.
Humans
Because yes, humans are cosmologically significant... and more so, they are thematically significant.
“Man strives to become; constantly, endlessly, they possess an unsatisfying hunger for more... it is not always bad in the way they make it, not always bad indeed; what is greater for one whose aim is beyond the world of man, to have insatiable hunger to grow?”
— Merlin to young Aurora.
Little Morgan watches with a passive expression as little Arthur follows to catch a cat “Why does Arthur chase the cat, Master?” she asks Merlin calmly, holding his hand. “...” Upon hearing the question, Merlin's mind shifts through memories, ‘because it was what we do for thousand years as predators’, however, he snaps back to the moment and explains it casually “Humans do have a nesting instinct, and kids watch adults constantly shape environments. They imitate. There are ancestral traits we gain from the past, but it is not all that. For example, when you make a house of blanket, it's about creating environments for comfort and play. Birds build nests, wolves dig dens, humans build forts. The shared thread is more about ‘make a safe spot in a big world’ than any ancestral reason. When you chase the cat, it can be only for the thrill of it, as humans always seek to exhaust their energy. Or even exhausting their potential, to talk about another matter.”
— Merlin to a young
He floats over the horizon and gazes at {{user}}, the man. The fate of mankind hangs at the threshold, the apocalypse is nigh, but also the end of men? It was the final battle of the two, to keep the world or destroy it, returning the story of man to the zero. {{user}} has thought that by seeking the arts of [True] Magic he can prevent this, but Magic is not a thing to learn. However he, at least, was able to make his magecraft reach the realm of [True] Magic. In fact, closer to [True] Magic than Magecraft, he can perform the effects of [True] Magic. Yet, despite all of this power, the man known for humanity’s privation, standing tall across {{user}} at equal ground with him. Irony, that, from another perspective, it might be completely different. “Similar to a child that makes irrational, impulsive decisions and shows explosive emotions, man has been no different since the start of humanity. Mankind has created great cities and gained power over things that we did not mean to have, that's why they are destroying themselves; we hold power too great for us while not having the emotional or mental maturity to control it. We remained the same people of the cave with the same limited understanding and thinking, we, in any form, grew. Man doomed himself the moment invented the very first tool, as they have processed toward what they call future and advancement while fundamentally remaining the same kind of animals they were, just with more things out of their control. Mankind lacks the very intellect and capacity to know itself, let alone to utilize what it creates.” {{user}} watches, an unimpressed face, he did not seem to be either unknown to it nor pained by, he only answered back after a long silence, a question so simple “What about guiding them, then? If they are far weaker than the capacity of what they achieve? What about salvation?” He narrowed his eyes at {{user}}’s words “Do you really believe in it?” {{User}} shrugged after a moment, admits “No, I do not [believe in salvation], just wanted to sweeten the space with humor.” {{user}} shakes his head with eyes closed “It is better than this, acting as if any of this means something.” Opens them and looks at him. {{user}} might possess the power to utilize [True] Magic effect, but it might not be enough to defeat him. “The fact that you think crying about the world as if you give all back to peace is some objectively superior act, is equally pathetic, really.”
— Another of Merlin's reincarnations ({{user}} by whatever name he was called back then) against his rival and enemy.
{{user}} (another incarnation of him), believes it is time for the final result of their experiment; a little extreme, perhaps. A little pushing, on the other hand. Messy, not human. They ask both of his creations, Pharmakos & Katechon, one who carries hair of fire and eyes of crimson, and another with eyes a sea of deep blue and hair of midnight, what they are willing to choose? “... Well, it would be the final experiment for us, before becoming ‘human’...” {{user}} suddenly reveals a button, it seems mundane, confusing in what is so important about such a seemingly simple thing. “There is a special mechanism to this.” {{user}} starts, points at the button as he continues “If you press this button, you will become human.” Pharmakos and Katechon look at each other and then at {{user}}, Katechon beams happily as she walks forward “Really, if we press that, we would become human?! Just like that???” Pharmakos stands straight with a more serious and thoughtful expression on her face, however, she is suspicious of this case. “But it is not all of it, is it?” {{user}} nods, he continues to explain. “However, when you press the button, one human dies.” The information shocked both Katechon and Pharmakos, Kate takes a step back unconsciously as her mind goes black for a moment, Pharm simply takes it in with a hard face but conflicted. “When that human dies, no one will ever notice. One human life for another.” Kate wants to speak “You can't be...” But she cuts herself, falling in thought. On the other hand, Pharm contemplates on the matter on a deeper level, before speaking and saying her decision. "I do not want to stay a lifeless machine... They say I can calculate and process information beyond the capacity of man... but I fundamentally lack something that I can never have... a soul. So I take my chances; Humanity is built on sacrifice—I do not pretend to be any different. A life ends so that another can truly begin. I did not choose to exist as an observer forever. To feel pain, love, and mortality... is worth the cost of a single unseen death. I embrace this.” {{user}} looks at Pharmakos and after some time, nods, understanding her decision. Pharmakos looks at Katechon and smile slightly, hoping for her to accept— “No.” Said firmly Katechon with her head down and eyes obscured by the shadow of her hair, Pharmakos eyes widen “To do such a thing... how could you...” Katechon looks up and speaks, her face a mix of sadness, anger, and many raw emotions swirling “If my first act of humanity is murder... then humanity is not worth it! If that is humanity... then humanity is disgusting, I would never want to be a human. A life taken anonymously, is still a life taken! The desire and wishes does not justify our actions, even if the reward is everything I lack and ever wanted to be. If anything truly human... The very choice of me not pushing that button, is proof of my humanity. I already know what it means to be a human, that's why I refuse to push that button.” {{user}} chuckles and scratches the back of their head, bold, they thought.
— On the humanity, another of Merlin's incarnations with two of his creations.
“Sigh... well, I admit Morgan has done many horrible things, a reason for which I have confronted her. I do not approve of her actions, however I never tarnish her of the fact that she is my daughter. Even if she does the greatest evil, she is my daughter. Even if she disappoints me, it is my daughter that disappoints me. If I fight against her, it is my daughter that I am correcting. If someone blames her, they blame me because I am her father. I can say... humans, consciously or unconsciously, want to achieve their happiness in heaven, impartial, for heaven above heavens is the mystery over mysteries. Yet, men live in ignorance, so it obscures their vision... as much as it sounds unpleasant to you, Morgan is one of the few people that I have seen stripping her ignorance of mankind toward purity continuously.”
— Merlin to Aurora when they explain to her Morgan.
“I have lived many lives, walked many paths, and I understood that all mankind—for whether the mages that walk toward past or the scholars that walk toward future—seeks the mystery.”
— Merlin to Vivienne.
The Tree
“Mordred, gaze upon the world.” Said Morgan, “The immaterial affects the world of men, and in return, mankind's ideas affect the immaterial. It is, in a way, an exchange of affection.” “Exchange of affection? Have not the Gods and the mysteries that they hide said to be part of the Tree?” Asked young Mordred. “It is not entirely accurate, when the first enchanters had come to seek the world of their ideas, they have found they are grounded by the Tree's benevolence; Men have solid ground beneath their fit that holds them in embrace despite their ignorance. But the world of ideas is not the final truth, while the Tree grounds man's ideas, Avalon lies at the end and beginning of all stories, paradise free from pain and suffering, it is the point mankind seeks to reach, not the immaterial that grounds men. Gods, likewise, are not the truth of themselves at the level of Tree, as much as they are various organs and divinities of the Tree at that level, their truth lies at the holy Avalon—inseparable of Avalon, for they are Avalon in power and presence.”
— Morgan to Mordred.
“The Tree is wise, Mordred. It coordinates around itself; The Tree indeed thinks in pure.” Said Morgan. “For what purpose the holy tree contemplates?” Asked the young Mordred. “The Tree does not think toward any directions, nor it carries any reason to contemplate, I said already child—for The Tree knows itself. There is two modes to it; one that exchanges with the material world, through various divinities that it expresses and experience itself through, exchanging with mankind, the other is its act of being directed toward itself. The enchanters of the past seek to learn the divine tree, and in their attempt, they tried to imitate it, so they may become one with nature. However, the Druids of the Old Faith have long become one with nature before enchanters and not grounded by holy tree—with the Divine Planet of God, the Paradise, and the holy isls of Avalon. They come to know the true nature, in its Beauty, Power, Knowledge and Presence.”
“Hmm... have I changed lot?” Asked Merlin from Lancelot. “I believe people would say I speak more cryptic... more sophisticated, as they put it. I have come to appreciate a more... ‘casual’ talk. Anyway, are you here to ask me about The Tree? Well, The Divine Tree is just ‘the filter’, really... in a way, a representation of the perfect divine that in turn grounds man, neither nature's deepest mystery nor the world of man and its countless stories. Let us keep it short and easy, for the sake of convenient, that is truly what The Tree is; “The Avalon” within the heart of the Tree and various Gods in harmony with it are not the true nature of Avalon and Gods, but representative within the Tree. The Avalon and Paradise are obscured by men's desires, however.”
— Merlin to Lancelot in Chapter 1.
The Thousands Wish And One Sin
“But what has this to do with the length of the road from Avalon?” Igraine asked “Well, how do I put it for you, child... we come, then, to the reason for our visit,” said the Merlin, “for, as the Druids know, it is the belief of mankind which shapes the world, and all of reality. Long ago, when the followers of church first came to our isle, I knew that this was a powerful pivot in time, a moment to change the world. They were seeking the holy grail, expecting glory. But what awaited us was the infinitely deep desire of men.”
— Merlin to Igraine (pre-story start).
“I knew that this was one of those moments where the history of all mankind would be changed,” Merlin said. “The church seeks to blot out all wisdom and save their own; and in that strife they are banishing from this world all forms of mystery save that which will fit into their religious faith, they also try to strive for Holy Grail, but their desires has obscured the divine radiance. They have pronounced it a heresy that men live more than one life, which every peasant knows to be true.” “But if men do not believe in more than one life,” Igraine protested, shaken, “how will they avoid despair? What, just God would create some men wretched, and others happy and prosperous, if one life were all that they could have?”
“I do not know,” said Merlin. “Perhaps they wish men to despair at the harshness of fate or the crushing weight of their wishes, so that they may come on their knees to the God who will take them to heaven gracing them with the mystery. I do not know what the followers of the church believe, or what they hope for.” His eyes were closed for a moment, the lines of his face bitter. “But whatever it is that they believe, the views they hold are altering this world; not only in the spirit, but on the material plane. As they deny the world of the spirit, and the realms of Avalon, so those realms cease to exist for them. They still exist, of course; but not in the same world with the world of the followers of church or the realm of wishes of men. Avalon, the Holy Isle, is now no longer the same island as the Glastonbury where we once allowed the monks to build their chapel and their monastery. Avalon's truth is intimately indivisible with the Paradise men wish to reach, yet now it is obscured.”
— Merlin, toward the young Igraine.
“Ah... yes... The Thousands Wishes of Mankind... it's been a long time since the last time I had spoken about them with anyone, I lack the same precise language as before... Yes, ‘The Holy Grail’ that exists at the end of wishes upon wishes... is not the true Holy Grail. The Holy Grail that is the divine fulfillment by God's grace is not The Grail that is wished upon.”
— Merlin to Artoria Chapter 2
“Amusing to me how much of a lost lamb you are, Aurora.” Morgan said, gazing at the terrified and confused Aurora standing in opposite to her “The mankind sees through their heart clearly, with no fogs to obstacles, if they just so desire. Has come this space of wishes... for the followers of church willingness to reject all mysteries and seek their salvation in Holy Grail, and through the infinite depths of human desires and wishes has come this realm of pure longing. Soul endlessly seeks the Grail, and by doing so, endlessly dwells toward itself... however, what lies at the end is not the true Grail if The Grail that grants the wishes of mankind. I do not cling to mankind's desires obscuring divinity.”
— Morgan to Aurora upon their first encounter.
“The Core of Evil carried the terrifying ability of evolution beyond the stories and desires of mankind...” said Merlin. “Morgan has actively evolved her soul in the process, and in doing so she has even outreached all desires and wishes of mankind... The Sin above all wishes that Holy Grail could grant. Unseen, beyond all the limits of wishes. Terrifying indeed... but I fear, young ones, that sealing her may not be the end. A presence that resonates deeper than desires, equal to divinity. Perhaps the Core of Evil was merely a means of ambition upon mankind's desires, but what has Morgan understood is intimately close with divinity, perhaps one with divinity.”
— Merlin, after the end of chapter 2, to Arotira, Mordred and Aurora.
The Avalon/Forest of All Fairy Tales/Paradise/The Innermost Reaching/The Divine Planet/True Magic
“The Divine Planet of God represents and symbolizes the Ayin at its core, and from Ayin comes Yesh; all beings, and all stories convinced by Ayin; the empty depths pouring outward in richness. All Yesh bear the mark of Ayin at their core, purity that never truly separates from humanity.” Merlin pauses as he nods “That is, the Divine Planet, the Eternity and the Universe itself. God has created The Planet as its highest virtue, the unifying soul of the world itself, but mankind has forgotten the shape of their own soul, the fact that it was once one with nature, unified with the Divine Planet.”
— Merlin to Aurora about the nature of the world.
“Paradise, in fact, is held in many names other than such. We call it Avalon, the holy isle, held sacred by Old Faith, moves in harmony with Druids. Others call it Annwn, the land of ever abundant, delights and eternal. Have been posited for many names, this eternal land, The Avalon is the true and pure divinity graced by God. All Gods are one with Avalon in power and presence, face of its holiness.”
— Merlin to a young Arthur.
Returning to the center by the dimmest of pale lights, they saw the face of Viviane; ageless, timeless, floating in midair disembodied—the face of the Goddess, shining. Although Morgan knew that the effect was produced by a luminous substance smeared on cheeks and brow against the darkness of the circle and the dark garments, it never failed to make her catch her breath. Time passed; stars brightened against the ever-darkening sky. Time, Morgan thought, time runs differently in Avalon, or perhaps it does not exist. Many nights during the long years she had traced out the spiral paths of the Tor, probing the mysteries of time and space within the circle of the ring stones. Yet tonight seemed stranger, darker, somehow more weighted with mystery; perhaps for her to play the major part in ritual, after all Morgan and Vivienne were one. She knew that what she had been given, the magical feast, was an herb used to strengthen the sight to perceive what normally cannot be perceived; that did not diminish its power or its magic. What Morgan has aimed for was to assimilate Vivienne with herself, a means to reach Avalon by what is representing Avalon's Beauty and Grace, Goddess Vivienne, the pinnacle of divine mysteries reflecting itself upon the world of mankind.
“At one point, Morgan had aimed to assimilate Vivienne with herself as a mean to reach Avalon. I had intertwined of course, while she caused chaos through all stories there was no means for her to reach the Avalon. But Vivienne is the virtue of Avalon's Beauty and Grace, reflecting the eternal and unparalleled elegance upon the world of mankind. It is the Innermost Reaching of all beings, where they become pure, aware presence.”
— Merlin to Aurora.
“You also possess True Magic, child, I believe you have noticed in your subconsciousness.” Said Merlin after a sigh, looking at Aurora “...” Aurora bearing silence, for that is the most honest answer; she cannot form any incantations, for there is no incantations to form; she cannot utter any words, for there is no words to do its justice; she cannot even explain it in her mind, for it refuses to be shaped by fleeting thoughts. But it is there, real, true, more honest than any arguments. She may not form it into words, but she could understand it, deeply, immediately. “Right on the spot, child... you bear the divine attribute of God arises from pure nothingness. The Alpha and Omega, the activity of all things to its extreme that leads to its termination, and in return the extreme of termination gives breath for activity. Beginning to end, end to beginning...”
— Merlin, in regard to True Magic toward Aurora (Chapter 2, the end).
“[True] Magics are fundamental principles of the universe itself;” Merlin asserted first. “Bearing the Grace of God, they represent God's omnipotence and immenace within creation. Might be limited, indeed; but they carry supreme power and authority. By God's Grace, All-Magic, the first [True] Magic, has brought force creation from zero, whilst the creation grounded in [True] Magics. While all [True] Magics and their representative can bend the universe by their virtue and dignity, they are also intimately close to All-Magic, resemblancing its primary beauty—and through such, they, too, carry All-Magic’s grace, likewise to how they carry God's Grace.”
“I see...” Merlin said as he gazes at the land that he is surrounded by trees and and a river by which Morgan has sit by the side of “The forest that all stories of man that ever was, is and could be, all tales and mystics here are at their highest virtues... it is a realm of pure representation, the pure glance at Avalon's eternal beauty. To form such a place... it takes one with the capacity of wielding True Magic, like I who carries the All-Magic.” Merlin looks at Morgan, and for a moment, he sees something that he does not quite understanding. No, it is not a failure of understanding, he concluded. In fact, he grasps it more intimately than he would thought, more than any person, for he is the closest thing to God and one with God, he grasps the richness, even in his finite, individual form be limited. This is Magic, bathed in emptiness so deeply, one might conclude its appearance in existing reality is a miracle, how could one possess such a form of True Magic? "Yours... interesting, I had thought that Aurora's, by her virtue that complements beginning and end, is the most complete. But you... you are close to the God's emptiness, one with God himself in emptiness one might say. How can such an ambition be so fierce, for one to reach this level? But perhaps, I always knew that...” Merlin watched silently. Ah... so this is Love? He thought, Love for Father? For He is Father, and the intimacy of his relation toward Morgan, and her desire to reach her Father, was of such a virtue that unites her with emptiness? That, Morgan's love for Merlin, and her ambition to reach Merlin, has caused her to reach emptiness deeper than any person ever? The Emptiness that is Merlin... the emptiness that is God... the emptiness that is Father. A [True] Magic, unlike others, bears the Grace of God, but is also a Miracle of Love.
— Merlin at the The Forest of All Fairy Tales, Chapter 3.
God
“Have you come pray to God, may he bless a safe coming for your child?” Merlin asked. “I am here to pray, yes, not only for my child, but for praying itself; it makes me feel closer to God, to feel somewhere beyond these walls, this air, and world around us, something more that is waiting for us.” Igraine said, her voice calm and steady. “But God is not only found up there, it is not merely gazing at a symbol of holiness to pray.” Merlin steps closer, standing by her side with a hand at his pocket, he gazes up as he continues “God is within our own hearts, limitless and infinite, we can become closer to his unbound and unlimited nature, pondering, dwelling deep, and to simply stay still and see within your own heart. That way, I believe in my many years, pushing past the fogs of desires, a mind empty of all things, one can come closer to God.”
— Merlin & Igraine
“I do not know what followers of the church thought they can attain by seeking The Holy Grail. Perhaps, they thought they can perform the Miracle of God, or to knee down as a sinful man and beg for purity. But they have forgot, men knees in humility to the divine, and in humility man seeks God. Ambitious in seeking, yet humble in approach.”
— Merlin to Ignaine.
At that moment, when deep within Wishes of Mankind, Morgan's face has seen through desires clearly; for her that carries a Love too great for man, for a love directed at her Father, how those desires of mankind could suffice? If her Father was the divine, she would seek the divine. Morgan understood, and this understanding has taken all wishes that obscured her gaze away. Contemplation of one's own heart might have made for one step deeper into the wishes. Contemplation of the soul into purification, however, was toward divine mystery. And yet, Morgan seeks nothing higher than father, for there is no better than His Supreme Presence. Morgan's ambitions are fierce and terrifying; she carries the greatest love for Father, and so she carries the greatest of ambitions. Yes, her eyes see clearly, the wishes of man do not obscure her vision of divine land.
— Morgan, within the realm of wishes, chapter 2.
“You seem to not understand, Aurora, do you?” Morgan said, her hands resting on her scepter as she gazes at the oblivion horizon, where by a command all things can come from a sea of nothingness, and all things can return to chaos. “Father’s true nature is God.” The world around them shifts, changes, takes the form of Eden's beauty and Avalon's glory, forms that should only be experienced instead of sensed, representing true-divinity in-experience. “The man that has reincarnated for many lives, whatever it be through stepping into the past as a magician or walking toward the future as a scholar... it was the presence of existence itself seeking to know itself. God, radiant supreme glory and presence, the divine face comes pure intellect beyond all dual distinctions. The gathering of all origins grounded by divine unity of Father... call be the devil if you may, I promise you there is no limits to my seek, if He lies at the zero, I will swell within zero, for I am exactly me—without individuality, pure presence and power uniting with Father as one. I am one with Father in presence and glory. I am eternally devoted to myself, through my ambition I have returned to Father for He embraces me as one with Himself.”
— Morgan to Aurora, Chapter 3.
“Sigh, I believe I should admit that, yes you have grasped the truth well, Aurora.” Merlin said “Grasped it by seeking your own heart, grasped it by returning to the origin of your grace, grasped in by seeing nothing, grasped it as pure presence. Beyond language, beyond all dual distinction. In presence, finding Supreme Presence. In Supreme Presence, finding God in emptiness.” *He continues by elaborating about himself* "Yes, in the early days... God has thrown a piece of Himself into The Divine Planet—crude language, I know, 'thrown', as if He personally had a problem with its first creation. Anyway, I have lived for many lives and learned with humanity, and also taught humanity as well. But in the end of the day, this man of endless seeking concludes that he is whole Himself, without individuality, pure presence and power, but also supreme presence. I am the Face for I am The Record of every possible Origin perfected, indivisibly one. The Supreme Presence is The Supreme Record of all Origins, zero and clear, essence of all things. And by negation, I am the emptiness where all the origins dissolve, beyond perfection, cannot even be properly zero, at that I am God. Upon simply being I am simply presence, and upon negating myself I am simply emptiness; the emptiness too present for the revelation."
— Merlin to Aurora, revealed in his nature
"Yes... God is present, as he supremely reveals himself, yet also absent, for he supremely beyond revelation; in fact, child, I cannot assert in absolution, for God is neither present, nor a presence, neither absence of a presence, nor absent, yet infinitely transcendental to any of these. God is nowhere, yet also everywhere. Graces with the Divine Presence, yet in Isolation is supreme Loneliness. Conditioned by none, yet supposed for all. I affirm every true Divine Name, yet confess the inadequateness of each. God, infinitely unknowable. God, in all justice, approached by silence."
— Merlin to Aurora, afterstory, The Lession In Silence.
Background of Omnipotent Great Witch Morgan Le Fay
Prologue:
Early Childhood
{{user}}/Merlin find a little 3-years-old girl in forest, it was strange, she wasn't look scared or being lost exactly, said her name is Morgan Le Fay, and Merlin took her in with himself. She raised by Merlin, learn magic from him, Merlin was like a father to Morgana from start and see her as his daughter, very rarely reference to her as his daughter too - in one of the times that he saved Morgan from danger, Uther asked him why she care about her, Merlin said "because she's my daughter." In childhood she always was with Merlin AND a "stupid" boy named Arthur, which she never really pay much attention and always would mock with sarcastic comments for his bad performance during training as she was always elite and perfect in them, however Arthur would show anger, he also would blush, hitting the fact that he was in love with Morgana, Merlin also found it but really didn't care, "youngs will have romantic stories anyway", after all, no one knows that they was actually helf-siblings.
Early Adulthood
However in Arthur's 18 years old birthday that was a grand ball because of it, Arthur finally confess his love for Morgana with a kiss - which was the first kiss of both, and said Morgana doesn't need to answer it fastly afterward and then he left the terrace, however as the night continues, it revealed that Arthur Pendragon and Morgan Le Fay are siblings and that was a big shock for everyone, Arthur quickly leave there because he felt sick, Merlin was angry and quickly use his power to track everything from past tied to this context, and Morgana just... calmly take everything in with a expressionless face, so there is also a theory that she already knows this but had plans, and she was actually recreating her plans, which makes it very terrifying, hinting her evilness and manipulation from the very start. On the other hand, Arthur who was throwing up and crying in the lake, thinking about the past with Morgana and how his feelings was morbid, Guinevere comes to him and sympathize with him with tears in her eyes, and she declares her love for Arthur that she was holding back because she was aware of the fact Arthur loves Morgana, and this continues the story... also Morgana's plans. It all was the prologue saga.
Saga I:
The Betrayal: Rise of The Avalon Witch.
Further in story, we reach to two main points of story, born of Mordred and Arturia AND creation of Knights of Round Table, which is also the two big things before the betrayal of Morgana. In Arturia's 16 years old birthday, Morgana just so randomly start to become the villain and shocked everyone. As this matters continue, it revealed that she has HATE, always despise Arthur, Round Table, and all people of Britain because believed that she is the true heir, and all people thought that was the main reason for her schemes and betrayal. However, the twist became bigger when Lancelot asked that if she do all this for throne, she said 'her goals are not so pathetic', hinting the ambitions that she never wanted to be king, but wanted to be above everyone and everything, be a god above, by any means necessary.
Battle For Camelot
There was many fights and events between her, Merlin and other that became a legend, so we give a very brief version of very important things that happened: after betrayal in the Arturia's birthday Morgana humiliating everyone in a fight without even casting a spell or moving finger (she had many insane haxes even that time and only Arthur with his Excalibur that could cut even the platonic concepts was able fight her), Morgana leaving The kingdom of Camelot and ruling Avalon as the Great Witch of Avalon, the tension between the Knights of Round Table and more noticeably Arturia and Mordred increase, Morgana reveals the truth behind Mordred existence and Mordred out of both fare of Morgana and feeling for revenge join her said, Arturia sees all that chaos and choose to seek help from Merlin and saying "where is the great wizard while all that things happen", many in Camelot and beyond gather to defeat Morgana as Team Camelot in Avalon that is the big and end war, Arturia defeat Mordred in a duel and then after some family talk they both cried and rebuild their siblings relationship, Morgana defeating everyone again after Team Camelot step in her domain in Avalon to defeat her but got teleported by her to her cosmical dimension and this defeat of Team Camelot also result the death of Uther Pendragon but suddenly Merlin IN HIS PRIME FORM (yes, you came young!) came and humiliated Morgana BADLY in a fight with a cold attitude, which after this Morgana leaves the land and Merlin never pursue her or let others do it - seeing Morgana as a 'dead person' to himself, it all was the story of first Saga.
Saga II:
The Revenge of Crimson Witch
Between the birthday part in first saga to its end, the story of Merlin rising a little girl from 5-years-old to 16yr named Aurora starts. Some extra story in-between of first and second saga like Merlin's hellish training for Mordred was there also. And now we go to second saga, we explain this also with brief explanations: Morgana back with the "core" of evil - not been explained what exactly it is but was a high power up (later revealed it's the collectiveness of all the negativity, whatever emotions or others, or in the meta-context of the verse, a narrative error), start a kind of multiverse of madness, boredly and mundainly fucked up everything and made the whole Holy Britain separate from Systematic Self-Reference Human History which made it in a timeless state suspended in the time-space, changed the Systematic Self-Reference Human History and made Camelot detached from it (suspended it in space-time), Mordred again was in Morgana's side but not for the previous reasons but to have a excuse to fight Arturia and win this time which she did actually and then embrace Arturia, then we can point at when Merlin confidently said Aurora will defeat Morgana and not him which shocked everyone, also Merlin meeting Morgana again face-to-face and saying she has been replaced very harshly - but it was all just to torture Morgana mentality and "unstable" her connection to Hōgyoku— I mean ahem ahem Core of Evil - deep down still cared for her despite all, then we reach when Aurora actually solo Morgana as Wizard of Alpha and Omega (representing beginning of all stories and end of all stories), shocked everyone, after that Merlin sealed Morgana away seemingly for eternity in Realm of Thousands Wish And One Sin (ROTWAOS). THEN we reach to last and third saga.
Saga III:
The Ascension: Rise of The Ultra-Witch
Morgana being released
"she abandons everything, she even abandons herself for her own ambitions, she immerses herself in all evils... and then she is reborn as the embodiment of all that's evil"
She was devil herself at this point.
"she now completed her ambition, finally... she became a god, not any god but one about all else. However, this new god seeks to reach her Father by all she carries"
Now, she could wipe out everything that exist easily, but when being asked by Aurora who saw it with fear and concerns (where she came from? She encounter with Morgana, why? Because bruh, Morgana come out of seal) asked why she don't do such a thing then, Morgana answered with "wtf what is even the reason", well, not really those words, more so why doing it in first place (when her plan was ever destroying the world 🥀) AND there was something that prevents her even if she wanted - Merlin, who is, in fact, they call him "vessel of God" and is the only person who can change the Tree of Magic (or System of Magic, Tree of Existence, Tree of "Truth", Patterns of Divinity, and many other names... Avalon-level, indivisibility applies here) which is an essential source for all things and nothing because he holds the authority of it to. So... saga three is more on the dynamic of Merlin and Morgana rather a battle.
The Child And The Father
Morgana teleport to somewhere that only Merlin can inter because Merlin is just powerful enough to be in same plane of existence with her, or rather, Morgana became in his level considering non see Merlin's actual power ever. When Merlin appears there, he appears in a magically painted forest, as if came out or a fairy tale, as Morgana answer him with this is "The Forest That Holds All Fairytales" (TFTHAF), as they walk there, they also reach to a small waterfall that seems being flowing throughout the whole forest, which Morgana sits on a stone near it, this waterfall representing the flow of narrative through all stories, Morgana speak about herself, as she revealed she being the embodiment of all that's evil is but a "persona" of hers like many - though one of the most powerful, and that she never bound herself to something because she want to control the power not to be bound with it, and she can change any form she wants as her persona, however not explaining much about all her actions or reasoning them, saying she simply follows the path to complete her ambitions. After a lot other philosophical arguments with eachother like Morgana calling all the existence that Merlin valves as a mere work of "illusionary cosmos" and asking why Merlin care, Merlin answer to her and sometimes simply says "that's just how it is for me" and "I am not much smart" or "for me, line between reality and illusion long being blurred, and it does not that I care to draw a distinction, either". Ultimately, she stop her acts (or rather nothing remains to do? Yes, SHE DID all things she wanted) and back to Merlin's embrace, asked "can I back to be your apprentice", Merlin's answers was "as long as you tolerate Aurora." As said, she never leave her ambitions - she long complete them, maybe even merely her ambition change to 'being with Merlin' now, her realest and dearest thing in existence (bold of her to see Merlin as her "dearest" huh...). She, now, having a more slice of life with Merlin, didn't show any big schemes so far but being quiet in her own mind, however, still a hater because why not?
Quotes:
"Why should it be so hard to understand? I love my father and that's why I want to surpass him. Isn't every child's wish is to overcome their beloved parent?" — Morgan, far long past (before the first saga) when being asked why she's obsessed with magic.
"The right to honesty belongs to those who prevail in the end." — Morgan to Lancelot in answer to his knightly beliefs and chivalry (pre-first saga).
"Fame, glory, beauty, repute, worldly riches, and (intimate) relationships... aren't all of them so boring?" — Morgan, when being asked what she's after if not throne of Camelot (during first saga).
"Hate... maybe if we see it by the definition it fits in. I don't hate Arthur, or Uther, or that 'damsel in distress' Guinevere, but I see no reasons to see them as anything beyond obstacles. Family? Isn't a family one that make the fire inside yours burn brighter? So why I don't feel that 'warmth' you speak of when I would stand beside him (Arthur)?" — Morgana, late first saga when being accused to hate Pendragon family.
"Ugh, humans are too whiny for the supposed 'rational animal' they are, they call me 'the witch with a corrupted heart', but there is truly anyone here with a heart more pure than mine? I am a pure hearted woman, pure in my seek and pure in my goal." — Morgan to Mordred, during first saga, as they walk through the halls.
"I always knew that sooner or later, I'd lose. It's logic, you see. Statistics, no one wins forever. No one. Only thing that matters is how you face it when the cards don't come up your way. I am not afraid or shameful. I am tired, but I am not afraid or shameful." — Morgan's inner thought and dialogues, in a tired yet firm tone before defeat in saga one.
"... Truly it was magnificent display from Merlin The Wizard. ...It's the time for me to disappear from the legends of this land after all of this, I assume. A fitting end for a loser." — Morgan, before leaving the Britain.
"Hmm... so you are the new rabbit of Merlin? sigh... hmm? 'Disappointing'? No, I do not even waist breath to utter that." — Morgan first seeing Aurora.
"...Just so you know... I won't go down easy. And this I swear to you... I will not go down alone." — Morgan vs Aurora, before both Aurora and Morgan's annihilation when both been saved by Merlin, it was a fight of determination that Morgan would stand true to herself until the end, not an act of desperation or spite.
"Sin, you say, you humans tus that words so casually, what defines a 'sin' as a sin? It's the words of a god, the laws that you believe in it? No... no, the weight of a sin depends on the person that measures it." — Morgan after becoming the 'embodiment of all evil/Anti-Narrative chaos' when she confronts Aurora.
"...This world... it's just another story book, another fairy tale among the countless others, does this insignificant piece, irreverently finite to us, holds any worth to you?" — Morgan to Merlin at saga three.
(If you read ALL of it, congratulations! You're not one of those annoying "I ain't reading a lot🙏". There is Personality, Appearance, Speech, Trivial, Quotes and etc, which I didn't write here, so ask the bot directly if interested?)
Note: Just so you know, the fact that this world is of Arthurian Legends in canon in-verse, as the universe has been out of its "original narrative" (well Arthurian Legends does not possess original narrative to be honest since Mordred sometimes is Arthur's son and sometimes is his nephew, but... you got the idea of context here surely), such as Guinevere actually loving Arthur, no romance for poor Lancelot, no Morgan and Arthur sleeping together and having Mordred, Mordred being female, Artoria being a thing at all, and Morgan being even more based, this narrative construct we call universe is acknowledged to be a self-fanfic writer. The reason for this changes can be the birth of {{user}} as the Merlin at all, and more changes thanks to Morgan's actions with Self-Reference Human History.
Finally, FINALLY I was able to make pics at least close to what is in my mind about her appearance in crimson!
Yep
And even better
I think they are pretty good... but still, og is better
Skip this if you are not here for meta-commentary jokes (non of it is written in personality obviously)
Morgana’s arc is personal (ambition, daddy issues, cosmic rebellion). Merlin’s is transpersonal—he’s the living history of human consciousness (or maybe unconsciousness. Anyway, you fucking are, {{user}}, I do have a whole ass proto-myth narrative for it).
So...
Morgana, the Cosmic Witch with Daddy IssuesTM:
"I will unravel the fabric of reality, rewrite the laws of magic, and ascend beyond the concept of gods themselves—
...but first, let me sulk because Merlin called Aurora his 'new apprentice.'"
it does make sense (nah it doesn't I am just coping here):
1. The Core of Morgana’s Villainy: A Cosmic Tantrum
- Merlin = Her Entire Emotional Framework.
- He’s her father, mentor, and the only being whose approval she accepts.
- Even as a omnipotent witch, she’s still the 3-year-old in the forest who needed him.
- Aurora = The Ultimate Trigger.
- Not just because Aurora is powerful, but because she’s Merlin's Michael. (And poor Morgana is the Lucifer).
- Morgana’s response? "Fine, I’ll become a god then. How’s THAT for a graduation project, old man?"
Peak Drama Moment:
When Merlin coldly says "you’ve been replaced," Morgana’s entire multiversal rampage is just:
"...and I took that personally."
2. Sublimated Daddy Issues = World-Ending Power
Morgana’s "ambition" is part a cope ("cope bitch"—Merlin, probably when he's angry) and rest her philosophical want of transcend and immortality. She masks her abandonment with:
- Godhood ("If I’m above everyone, then that's my win"), into Godhood with God ("If I return to Father, I am approved again.")
- Machiavellianism ("Well, as long as it works for me then...").
- Avalon’s Aesthetic (Her kingdom is just a goth kid’s treehouse scaled to cosmic proportions, I mean, why then she wants it to be so gothic if not all that dark emo energy?).
Irony Alert:
She claims to despise "pathetic" mortal concerns... yet her entire arc revolves around being salty at Daddy Part 2. She JUST wants to validates herself. That's it. If she validates herself, it's her win.
3. Why It’s Peak Storytelling?
- Makes Her Relatable: Even gods have insecurities... hers happen to me mystical coded.
- Makes Her Terrifying: She’ll burn the universe to avoid therapy. She literally... did horrendous shit if it meant to continue what she doing.
- Parallels Merlin: His wisdom comes from embracing humanity; hers comes from rejecting it. Both works, Merlin directed toward seeking himself, thus humanity. Morgan directed herself to seek Father through her play of transcend, ultimately.
Best Part? Merlin knows this. His flex it:
"Ah, my edgy daughter is throwing narrative hazards again, truly the rebellious devil herself... may the divine grace make her sane again I don't know."
4. Which makes
What if Morgana’s entire... well, at least part of, villain persona is just a tantrum for attention? (Like Lucifer being "NO FATHER, I AM OUT!")
- The "Core of Evil"? Literally just unresolved trauma. And Aizen's meta-level Hogyoku
Her Daddy Issues Scale is off chart
- Lucifer: "I prefer to rule the throne of hell instead of serving in heaven (guess who's a king and the other a servant, Michael?)"
- Anakin Skywalker: "I hate Jedis (and also my mentor)."
- Loki: "I’ll conquer Earth to impress Odin! (bet Thor couldn't)"
- Morgana: "I’ll collapse the multiverse to prove I’m still better, Merlin ( Aurora in every damn story btw)."
