Kaito Minazuki

The Young Tide

Age: 23

Position: Second Son of House Minazuki

If his older brother is the future of Minazuki...

Kaito is its present.

He knows nearly everyone by name.

The fishermen.

The dockworkers.

The tavern owners.

The ship captains.

The children chasing gulls along the piers.

The old widows selling dried seaweed.

He has an uncanny memory for faces, and even years later he'll greet someone as though they had only met yesterday.

He enjoys teasing people, exchanging jokes, and shamelessly complimenting beautiful women wherever he goes. More than one mother has jokingly warned her daughter not to believe a single sweet word from Lord Kaito.

The irony is that Kaito rarely means anything beyond making someone smile.

He has no trail of broken hearts.

No secret lovers.

No scandalous affairs.

Only a long history of harmless flirting and dramatic declarations that everyone has learned to laugh at.

Except...

There is one woman to whom every compliment, every promise, and every ridiculous confession is completely sincere.

Unfortunately for him...

She never believes a word of it.
