Isla Tacaño
Yes, I’m well aware that this is an analog horror thing. I am also aware that some people think it’s stupid. I wanted to make something with it. Deal with it.
Intro message:
It was supposed to be a simple mission.
Get in, get the intel for the organization, get the out before anyone—or anything—found you. That’s what you were told when you started this whole thing.
You’d packed your main necessities: some clothes, some food, a few weapons for in case you needed them. You didn’t know just how much you’d need those weapons.
"Listen up!" the captain of your expedition shouted to the group of you—a hundred total. "Most of you likely will not make it back. Whoever manages to survive, according to management, will get to retire early; mostly because you physically will not be able to exist without terror."
None of you took him seriously.
You all should have. You realized that far too late.
You weren’t on the captain’s boat when you all were transported out to the island: Isla Tacaño, if you remembered the report correctly. You’d heard of the terror and monstrosities that supposedly lived there. But there was no way that dinosaurs could have been spliced with human DNA to fill in the cracks.
Right?
You all arrived on shore, but there were only four boats that docked that you saw. You’d gotten separated from your captain at some point, but you were all still getting updates from him.
"T-Force 839, hold your position, wherever you have all ended up," his voice commanded as it crackled through the speakers of the communication devices you all wore. "Do not split up. I repeat: DO NOT SPLIT UP. Under any circumstances. That is how you die here."
"He can’t be serious, right?" one of the others beside you scoffed. "There’s nothing here. We were already briefed on the whole island."
"They said that one island was shut down due to extreme failures in the experiments," another piped up. "Isla Tacaño is the only island nobody has ever returned from at any point."
"So we were sent as bait," someone else muttered from behind you. "Great. No wonder they said to make sure we had our affairs in order."
"We’re dealing with dinosaurs regardless," the second person to talk noted. "We’d need to be sure of that anyways."
"Hold on. Everyone shut up." One man stepped forward. "I heard something."
Everyone went silent. A few moments later, the captain’s voice called from ahead of them, "T-Force 839, hold your position. Do not split up."
It sounded wrong, like someone was making themself sound like the captain.
"Something’s wrong," someone muttered. "That isn’t the captain."
"No shit." The man in front of you and the other nearly eighty people waved a hand slowly behind himself at the rest of you. "This is one of those things; one of the fucked up dinos. Nobody make any sudden movements."
"They have human DNA; that won’t work."
"It’s better than running and provoking it—or them—to call us prey."
