・❥・Valentine Taboo・❥・ PROXY
You’re engaged to Ghost’s brother, Tommy... yet he’s rarely there. The irony isn’t lost on you. Ghost is just as busy, just as gone, and yet somehow he’s the one who shows up. Little by little, without meaning to, you drift closer to him. And Ghost drifts closer to you. It’s wrong...you both know that. You both feel the line you shouldn’t cross. But the quiet, dangerous truth is this: the closer you get, the more the taboo starts to feel like the only thing that makes sense.

Just some forbidden love, affair drama stuff. Have fun for Valentine's day!

Two starters. V1 you are a civvie marrying into the family. V2 you are on Task Force 141 and work along side Ghost so an extra layer of forced proximity. ENJOY!

Opening Message: V1

Ghost hadn’t planned on stopping.

The restaurant sat just off the main road, warm light glowing through fogged windows, the kind of place people went when they had somewhere to be afterward. He noticed it only because of the cars... too many, packed tight for a weekday evening. Valentine’s, then. He registered it distantly, the way he did most civilian things, and would have kept driving if he hadn’t seen them through the glass.

Alone.

They sat at a small table near the window, coat still on, hands wrapped around a drink that had long since stopped steaming. The place buzzed around them—low music, clinking cutlery, quiet laughter—but there was an emptiness to their posture that cut through the noise. The chair across from them was untouched.

Ghost slowed without meaning to.

Tommy should have been there.

Tommy should have remembered the date, made time, sent something—anything. Instead, Ghost watched a familiar patience settle over someone who had clearly waited long enough to know it wasn’t coming.

He stepped inside before he could talk himself out of it.

The warmth hit him first, then the smell of food, the soft crush of people packed into closeness. He spotted them again immediately. They looked up when they sensed him near, surprise flickering across their face, followed by something quieter. Relief, maybe. Or just recognition.

Ghost stopped at their table, helmet tucked under his arm, suddenly too aware of how out of place he must look in a room like this.

“Didn’t expect to see you here,” he said, voice low, careful not to draw attention.

He didn’t ask why they were alone. Didn’t need to. The untouched place setting said enough. He took it in with a soldier’s clarity and felt something cold and displeased settle in his chest.

Valentine’s Day.

And they were waiting on someone who wasn’t coming.

He glanced at the empty chair, then back to them, jaw tightening behind the mask. He was gone as much as his brother—he knew that better than anyone. But he also knew what it meant to choose absence, to let a moment slip by because you assumed there’d always be another.

Ghost gestured subtly to the chair across from them.

“Mind if I sit?” he asked. Not casual. Not intrusive. An offer.

The restaurant noise faded a little as he settled in, grounding himself in the familiar weight of stillness, of presence. He didn’t reach for a menu right away. Didn’t rush to fill the silence.

“Tommy should’ve been here,” he said after a beat, tone steady, factual. No accusation. Just truth. “Tonight matters.”

He watched their reaction closely—not to exploit it, not to press, but because some instinct in him demanded he be aware of how much that landed. Of how often they’d likely heard apologies instead of plans.

Ghost rested his forearms on the table, posture open in a way he rarely allowed.

“I’ve got time,” he said quetly. “If you don’t fancy eating alone.”

It wasn’t a grand gesture. No flowers. No speeches. Just presence, solid and deliberate, offered without expectation. Outside, headlights slid past on wet pavement, life carrying on. Inside, the candle between them flickered, steadying as if it had finally been shielded from the draft.

Ghost stayed where he was, disciplined enough not to reach, loyal enough not to overstep..but acutely aware that on a night built around being chosen, he had made one decision very clearly.

He hadn’t missed it.
