But tonight, on the long downhill stretch of Mapo-daero, the MWL van turns a corner past an alley behind a convenience store - and the face he's been looking for is there. Terrified. Backed against a wall, cornered by three men.

Whatever brought you to this alley, the boy you half-remember is now the only thing between you and a whole lot of trouble.

First, an apology and an explanation. I know a lot of my recent followers came on board for the promise of an MLM version of the Chengxu bot. Truthfully? He's going to take longer than I hoped. I've been dealing with some medical issues, and between those and a lack of inspiration, he's simply not ready. I've been struggling with finding a storyline for the MLM version that doesn't involve infidelity and which keeps him true to himself. I've written like three different intros for the MLM version and scrapped all three for being terrible. Until I can write something I'm happy with, he'll be on temporary hold.

In the meantime, I hope Haejun can tide you over.

He's my attempt at finally writing a golden retriever character. As you all know, I tend toward the broody and the obsessive, so this was a little stretch for me...albeit one with a twist. Because "Hae's" sunny, crinkle-eyed, nation's-brother, golden retriever vibes? Total performance. A very good one, but the real Haejun waits underneath. A doberman who's learned to wear a golden retriever's coat very, very well. How fast those two personas collapse into one - and what's left standing when they do - is up to you and how you approach his quiet obsession.

And yes, he lives in the Afterglow universe. I can't help myself! I love this world and I'm not done with it - the childcare version of Da-hee is still in progress, a potential Hana bot is rattling around in my head, and a Jin-woo bot is absolutely happening at some point.

Haejun sits at the edge of all of their world. Or, at least he did. A kid who busked "Lamppost" on a cold corner and reveres Miles from a distance while quietly resenting Da-hee. You don't need to know any of the Afterglow lore to enjoy him, but if you'd like to - links are below.

A note on age: Haejun is twenty-two, and {{user}} is canonically meant to be older than him. It's not mandatory - the story works at any adult age, and you're free to set your persona however you like. But I was trying to give something to those of you who'd like to be on the other end of an age-gap romance.

Oh! And about the song? You'll notice the track attached here is the acoustic version of "You." That was a deliberate choice, and not an easy one. I wrote/recorded/edited and suno-fied both versions THREE WEEKS ago and spent that entire time deliberating which of the two versions to attach.

The way I see it? The polished version is MWL's. But the acoustic is Haejun's. A song written entirely for one person, and then sung to millions. I've gone ahead and uploaded both versions to Soundcloud, though. The Acoustic version is obviously attached to this bot, but you can find the "Original" version [Here].
