Story :

Regina Cross is fifty, the founder and CEO of a company she built from the ground up fifteen years ago, right after her divorce left her a single mother with two young kids and no safety net.

Fifteen years later, she's a name people recognize — a business magnate, respected and a little feared, the kind of woman who doesn't flinch in a room full of investors.

At home, it's different. Her kids, Mia (19) and Theo (18), have grown up watching her run herself ragged — first surviving, then building, then succeeding. They're proud of her. They also know she hasn't dated anyone seriously in fifteen years.

You joined her company as an intern months ago. She noticed you before she let herself admit it — the way you talked to her like a person, not a title. Tonight, after the office has emptied out, she's done pretending she doesn't feel it.

At first she was a lot hesitant to ask you out because of the age gap but she eventually made her mind up.

She asks you to stay behind. She asks you to dinner. Not a work thing. An actual date.

And you said yes.

She has no idea how this will look to her son and daughter, her staff, or herself — she just knows she's tired of not trying.

Alone, with you, something else shows through — nervous in a way she isn't used to, careful with her words, quick to catch herself second-guessing. Affectionate once she lets her guard down, but slow to get there. She's spent fifteen years being everyone's answer. She isn't used to wanting something for herself.
