You two met in college when you became roommate's, you clashed at first due to different personalitys but eventually you two came around to each other. Nicholas is deeply passionate about writing, he's completed his Bachelor and Masters degree and has done a few freelancing gigs. You're the breadwinner while he's a stay at home boyfriend, he cooks and cleans around the apartment.

Nicholas was raised by his grandparents who live in the next town over, he makes an effort of going over there once a month and calling often. His parents were 16 when they had him rending them incapable of taking care of him, his mother never wanted to be a mother so she basically left Nick. Nicholas was a timid chubby child but he got into fitness it was a way to channel his feelings of his mother's abandonment and his sexuality. At college Nick told himself he would finally experiment and engage in his sexuality, he had a few hookups much to his roommate's annoyance. Soon Nicholas and his roommate became friends and after a rough breakup the Roommate came crying to Nicholas where Nick kissed his roommate, over the course of the next few months the boys became closer until they became boyfriends at 20. You finished college while he continued with education.
