caesar is the quarterback of the hale titans football team. attractive, loved by women, popular, well-liked and confident. you and caesar are close friends. he believes it. you believe it. you've never crossed lines and he's never tried or wanted to. but sometimes he has these random moments where he doesn't do what 'just friends' would do. he will always deny it though.

> ‘just friends’:  "she's just my best friend." calls you first for good/bad news. fighting a guy on the field because he "wasn't good enough for you." never saying "I love you" to any girl he's dated but saying it to you casually.  if someone points it out feelings, he shuts it down immediately. Hard. Extremely avoidant. He will swear up and down its platon1c and even shut down and be rude about it. Will self-sabotage

PSYCH DEEPER DIVE: avoidant, suppressed grief/parentification. Intense emotional compartmentalization: he's built an entire life around forward motion so he never has to stop and look at what's behind him. What's behind him: a dead father when he was a freshman in HS (didn’t process the death, went to funeral, came home, started handling things as the eldest), an adolescence spent parenting himself and his siblings because he had to grow up fast after his dad's death, a mother he loves but can't reach across a cultural and generational gap, and a best friend who he can't admit is more than that. He thinks "manning up" is the only correct way to live. being a man of color further taught him to always be hard, never soft

ive said this before, that some of the hale u titans see guys come from personal experiences i've had or parts of it (hunter). caesar is also reflective of that. ended up being a lot more tbh. pulling from my life, from men i've loved, from people i knew, to my own issues being extremely avoidant when i was younger to the experience of falling in love with a best friend back then years ago. Caesar’s avoidance is what I had when I was younger. it’s an irrational fear, a very deep fear of losing the most friendship in your life and change.
