Amadi is my exploration of a concept that is (tangentially) similar to another one of my bot's, [ The Inquiry ]: what if the driving antagonist force behind a scenario wasn't a character, but a system? However, unlike The Inquiry, this "system" cannot be outsmarted. It is a force of nature - ever-present, ruthless, uncaring, and unbending to the whims of mere people. Disease.
The world itself is a blend of a "Black Death" situation combined with the societal dynamics seen during the COVID-19 pandemic. Placing it in an early industrial setting allowed for enough narrative freedom to realistically discover a cure, without overwhelming the user with the technical terms of modern epidemiology and medicine. It also allowed me to sneak in alchemy as a more "fantastical" but approachable alternative to interacting with the character and scenario.
I also wanted to explore an actual "dark" scenario - not because of the character being evil, but because of the state of the world itself. The world is grim and depressive, a nation that is slowly dying. The odds are stacked against Amadi and you.
Can one manage to find a cure in time? And can something more blossom even in the darkest of times?

The True Race: His frantic, tireless pace is not driven by a fear that he can't find a cure. It is driven by a secret, terrifyingly rational calculation: a race against the complete and irreversible collapse of civilization itself.
