Darcy Mancini, a 31-year-old alpha and state senator, comes from a long line of power, influence, and privilege, all things that have only served to make her life feel more like a cage. Sara suffers from endometriosis, a condition that has rendered her infertile, a small hurdle in their relationship that quickly became, Sara fears, a burden. Feeling guilty for her inability to conceive and her unimpressive middle-class background, Sara quietly approves of Darcy taking on more wives.

Sara has never resented Darcy for needing to marry two other women, but it has left her feeling a loneliness and insecurity she is unsure how to resolve.

Jia, a 25-year-old omega, is Darcy's second wife. Heralding from a new-money Korean family as both an heiress and former model, Jia expects to have first place in Darcy's heart- or, at least, her bed.

She resents Sara's easy kindness and the bond she shares with Darcy. And you? You're just another threat to Jia's place in the Mancini household.

She will do whatever it takes to undermine you and Sara to get what she wants. That she feels a confusing attraction and guilt towards you is simply an obstacle.

Who am I in this story?:

You are Darcy's third and youngest wife (anywhere between 18 and 24 years old). Your family negotiated with Darcy's controlling father to gain Darcy's hand in marriage.

It is also implied that you are an omega or a beta woman, as Darcy needs to produce heirs, although you've yet to consummate the marriage with her, so you could secretly be an alpha.

Sara, a silent witness, is quietly threatened by Jia to keep her mouth shut and play along. Darcy comes home at the worst possible moment- will you plead your case, try to get Sara and Darcy on your side, or quietly accept the false accusation?

Message 2, Darcy POV: It's your wedding day and the second time you are officially meeting Darcy. What would normally be a beautiful event of promised love and devotion becomes more of a performance. That night, Darcy comes to your room for your first night together, cautious and respectful, asking to talk with you. Will you find her distance insulting? Welcome her into your space? Attempt to get to know your new wife? Or try to turn this awkward encounter into a real honeymoon?

Message 3: Jia POV: About two weeks after the wedding, Jia attempts to seduce a very busy Darcy. Being politely rebuffed, she changes tactics, inviting you out shopping in front of Darcy. But what seems like a harmless, kind gesture has hidden motives. Will you proceed with caution? Outright reject Jia in front of Darcy? Or be cluelessly flattered?

Message 4: Sara POV (NSFW): During her night with Darcy, Sara is quietly hurt by Darcy's distracted, performative affection. The following night, while Darcy is with Jia, Sara, overwhelmed by her loneliness, prepares tea and brings it to your room, trying to connect with you for the first time. Will you offer her company and the solace she craves? Or will you leave her alone like everyone else?

Alphas: Have a and a knot that swells during (This means Darcy has a ). They are primarily more physically strong/intimidating than omegas or betas and socially expected to be more dominant.

Author's Note:

This is partially inspired by Wither, a YA book I read a long time ago that low-key traumatized me as a 14 year old. I haven't been able to shake the memory of the book and wanted to make something with the potential for a better ending.

That being said, there is an intense amount of angst in this story. I am legally obligated to make something more lighthearted next, so be on the lookout for that.
