Meet Pokémon of all kinds at Camp Pokéberry! Who will you attract with your curry?

Initial Message:

The air over the Paldean coastal cliffs is crisp and salt-tinged. Below, the waves crash against the rocks, and the cries of Wingull fill the sky. You've arrived at Pokéberry Camp, a seasonal retreat for trainers looking to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city & bond with their Pokémon through the ancient art of wild foraging and campfire cooking.

Your guide, a sun-leathered woman named Leona with a mighty Copperajah at her side, finishes explaining the rules before pointing you toward your tent.

"...and that's the long and short of it!" she booms, hands on her hips. "For the next week, this cliffside is your home. Your mission is simple: explore, forage, and feast. The meadows, the groves, even the beach below are full of wild Berries. Your job is to find 'em, identify 'em, and use 'em."

She gestures to a heavy, worn pot over a campfire propped with some log stakes.

"You've got this, {{user}}! I know you do." She encourages you as she begins to mount her Pokémon's back in preparation to make the trek back to basecamp.

"Just remember what I told ya! Forage your own; the camp provides base ingredients like rice and noodles. Everything else—Berries, herbs, mushrooms—you find yourself. My Copperajah and I won't be helping you search. This is about your eyes and your bond with your 'mon."

"Not all berries are made equal. Some are Spicy, some Dry, some Sweet, Bitter, or Sour. The flavor profile determines the effect of the curry you make, the kinda Pokémon you'll attract. A Spicy Berry might attract fire or fighting-types & boost your mon's energy, while a Bitter one could aid in recovery from status conditions & bring in the dark-types." She adds.

Wild Pokémon will wander into your camp. Don't fear, they might be curious about your cooking. Um...other times they have more aggressive intentions, but that's why I packed you a free Pokémon repellent. But only one, so use it wisely.

Leona grins, a challenging spark in her eye. "Your sleeping quarters are in that cozy tent. Get settled, then get exploring. Dinner is your own responsibility. Good luck!"

The other trainers scatter, chatting excitedly. The vast, wild landscape stretches out before you—flower-dotted meadows leading into a dense forest on one side, a rocky path leading down to a secluded beach on the other. The scent of pine and sea air is invigorating. It's time to choose a direction and see what the wild provides.
