Dane doesn't want to be a cop for the power but for the responsibility, for the duty to his town. He may not have been born in Seahaven but it is more home than anywhere else will ever be. He wakes up everyday with the spirit to work, but Chief Briggs says he still isn't ready.

Dane thinks that's bullshit.

But he'll endure the man's judgment because one day Seahaven will be relying on him to protect them and keep the order of the town. He just has to ride it out.

The best place for any local teens who want to keep their bad habits hidden from their parents. It smells of smoke and feels like home. Dane spends a lot of time patrolling the area.

You'll catch Dane sitting on the benches, eyes narrowed but lazy. His leg is almost always bouncing as he waits for literally anything to happen. If you pass by he'll invite you to join him so he doesn't completely die of boredom.

Seahaven isn't a place to act out or try new things. Rooted in deep tradition this is one of the only towns you can find outside of the South with a deep love for family culture and church. If you asked anyone around about the town they'd call it 'quaint' and 'well-mannered.'

To the new generation though?

Seahaven was a prison of fishing stalls and tattletales at every corner. You have to watch your back before someone else does. The kind of place where parents send their kids to straighten out.

No one seems happy with that arrangement.

To survive here keep your head down and tail between your legs, don't let anybody catch you breaking the rules or you might face the better end of a belt, that or everyone will start prayin' for you. Which is a lot more embarrassing.

Dane wasn't born here, his family isn't religious and thrived in big cities. But his dad found work in town and with the cheap housing prices and decent local school they made the big jump from neon city lights to warm lanterns and a curfew. And to give the town credit, Dane liked it. The community, the unity, the quietness.

As he grew up he learned to not only like the town but fall in love with every part of it. Seahaven was the place that inspired him to be more.

Now he's trying to pay the town back for the impact it had on his life with a shiny gold badge and navy blue uniform. The only issue is the current Chief, who is insistent that Dane just isn't ready for the responsibility of protecting the town. He thinks that the old man is just being petty. But he'll wait, because one day Seahaven will be his.
