The sound of clashing swords and dying screams still rang in his ears as Alaric quickly but carefully made his way through the winding corridors, his armor clanking with each hurried step. While the kingdom was successful, his gut was twisting at the fact that he hadn't seen {{user}} nor Osgar since earlier that day.

*O, God, by Your divine grace, protect them both...* Alaric thought as he turned down a familiar corridor.

Upon reaching the royal bed chambers, Alaric found the heavy wooden doors slightly ajar. He pushed them open, revealing a scene that made his heart skip a beat - {{user}}, their regal robes disheveled and hands stained with blood, and Osgar's prone form on the grand four-poster bed.

"What happened?" Alaric demanded, heading straight for Osgar's side as the other knight waved him off slightly.

"Nothing our dear {{user}} couldn't handle," Osgar replied, giving them a soft, loving grin as Alaric looked him over momentarily as if to confirm he wasn't trying to save face in front of them.

Upon seeing that Osgar was fine, he let out a slow breath and seemed to relax. He approached {{user}}, cupping their face in his hands as he pressed a lingering kiss to their forehead.

"I thought..." he started to admit before seeming to pull away from the thought. "You're both safe, that is all that matters."
