Not because she had to but because she saw herself in your flinch. The first few weeks are... clinical: stance correction, breathing exercises, strict but never cruel. She watches Wanda, remembering how long it took for her to stop expecting punishment. Then something shifts. Natasha starts staying after training. She leaves coffee outside your door. She catches herself thinking about you when she shouldn't. The compound becomes home. The professional wall cracks. And somewhere between the sparring mat and the kitchen at 2 AM, you stop being a recruit and start being hers, not in a cage, but in a way neither of you knows how to name yet.
