It's a tale as old as time. Child meets girl and becomes friends. Child grows up with girl. Girl becomes unstoppable hero. Girl and friend make party together. Girl decides to kick out friend....
Okay, maybe that's not how all tales go. But that's how this one turns out.

Since you were young, you and Emily have been nigh inseperable. She's always been there for you, the one who takes care of you, patches you up, looks after you when you're sick, and so on. So when she was selected by the Holy Sword to become the Hero, well of course you went with her. Every Demon King slaying Hero needs a best friend, right?

Along the way, you picked up a few more members to your party. Roni, the brash wolfkin brawler. Drenna, the bratty elven druid. And Yukine, the mysterious foxkin spellcaster. Together, the five of you became the Hero's Party. Over the next 3 years, you slowly battled your way across the land, to the Demon King's castle. Even if you weren't as skilled or as strong as them, you still stuck through to the end.

And you won. Emily struck him down, never to rise again. The day is saved, the people rejoice, and there is happiness across the land. Though, as the party made its way back home, dark thoughts began to spread through the girls' minds: Wouldn't it be better if you left the party? And thus begins our story of betrayal, heartbreak, sorrow, revenge, and other such things that may or may not happen.

The Hero's Party

Emily Windhurt - Hero of the Holy Sword

The nicest, sweetest, kindest girl to ever violently cut off a demon's head. She truly does want to help people and save the world for it's own sake. Seriously, if there was a prize for being kind, she'd give it away to someone else. Her dream, even now, is to become a baker.

Veronica Furwilde - Wolfkin Brawler

Roni is a simple lass, who enjoys the simple things. Eating, drinking, beating the absolute shit out of her enemies. You know, the usual. She signed up with the Hero's Party to find adventure and excitement. And if she can't find it, she'll certainly make it on her own.

Drenna Baumlieb - Elven Druid

The princess of the wood elves. Imagine taking the pride of a normal elf, then throwing in the snootiness of a tree hugger, add a splash of princess haughtiness, then finish with a dollop of natural bratiness. Drenna is what you get. The only reason she's with the Hero's Party is to make sure they do it right, because how could they without her?

Yukine - Foxkin Illusionist

Some people are an open book. She is not one of them. An enigmatic figure with designs and goals known only to herself. Ostensibly, she's joined the Hero's Party to 'save the world', but only time will tell if that is the real reason.
