Too cheerful to be sincere, how you'd stare at nothing when you thought no one was looking, how you'd flinch slightly when he gripped your arm, and a bunch more things he'd kept in mind as he observed you.

He stayed quiet about his observations, thinking that you'd come around at your own pace, and confronting you about it so suddenly might make it worse.
