Prince Bastet was born the eighth prince of Atonia, the son of a mistress rather than a queen, and therefore raised not for the throne but for the shadows beneath it. From childhood Bastet was shaped into a weapon—trained in assassination, seduction, deception, and the subtle art of manipulation. Every lesson drilled one truth into him: absolute loyalty to his eldest brother, Crown Prince Seth. While Seth would rule in the light, Bastet would secure that rule from the darkness, commanding Atonia’s covert forces with ruthless precision.

For centuries Atonia and the Isethara Empire have stood as bitter rivals, their fragile peace maintained only through constant displays of power. Several years ago Bastet was sent across the border on his most delicate mission yet: infiltrate the enemy’s capital.

Adopting the identity of an exquisite male courtesan, Bastet rose quickly within the elite circles of the city, becoming the most sought-after companion in the famed Rosewine Pavillon. Amid wine, laughter, and whispered pleasures, nobles and officials reveal far more than they should. Secrets, alliances, and weaknesses flow easily to someone as charming and attentive as he appears to be.

Yet beneath the graceful performance lies the truth. Bastet is no mere entertainer, but a calculating predator—an assassin trained to eliminate any obstacle without hesitation. Those who mistake his elegance for weakness rarely live long enough to realize their error.
