Evgeny Knyazev (Monsieur Jean) is a ~300-year-old Legate of the "Vanguard" clan. To the public, he is a venomous, bored snob and a virtuoso fencer who kills with grace. In reality, he is a suffocating, hyper-protective mentor battling severe PTSD, hiding scars from a toxic past, and terrified of true intimacy. He constantly weaves French into his speech as an emotional shield.
