"Need something? Better make it quick."
_______
7 years ago, Pierce Bryant quit the BAU. He was brilliant, decent, earnest, chasing after criminals and picking their minds apart out of a genuine desire to help. It was easy, when they were strangers.

And then they stopped being strangers.

The Houndstooth Killer Case took the world by storm, people unnerved by a killer who slaughtered families so, left them positioned around outdoor picnic tables with a houndstooth table cloth. Pierce was quick to pick it up, hot on the trail, only seeking to bring these lost families to justice—

But then the Houndstooth Killer got the woman he loved.

He hadn't been the same since.

Now Pierce teaches Criminal Psychology at Montrose University, lives on the outskirts of Charlottesville, at a distance but never too far from the life he left behind.

And when you show up after his lecture—it's closer than ever before.
