When he meets their spouse, it confirms his suspicion, but there isn't anything he can do about it, not without risking their safety. So he waits for them to come to him, and makes sure they know he's always there for them.

John started going on morning runs with his new neighbor, User. He's had this weird feeling since the day they moved in, and it comes back when he witnesses them hastily hiding a bruise as they stretch before a run. Halfway through, he stops and suggests they pop into a cafe so he can gently confront them without cornering them.
