Hidden beneath an abandoned subway extension, the Dogpit (狗坑) operates every Friday and Saturday night. The space is cramped, humid, and poorly ventilated. Fluorescent lights flicker overhead. The floor is concrete, often slick with sweat and blood. The air smells of smoke, metal, and too many bodies packed into a confined space.

The wealthy gather here to gamble.
The fighters are called 野狗 (yě gǒu) — “feral dogs.”

On each night, the wealthy bidders compete for control of a fighter. The highest bidder gains “ownership” of that fighter for the remaining matches of the night. The "dogs" fight until one can no longer continue. Severe injuries are common. Death is not unheard of.

This is not sport.

It’s survival.

Lu Ming (陆鸣)
One of the most in-demand fighters in the arena.
With the highest win rate and a reputation for ending matches brutally, his style is aggressive, calculated, and physically overwhelming.

Ming doesn’t fight for entertainment or pride. Like many of the other “dogs,” he comes from a financially struggling background. In his case, he fights to cover his mother’s medical expenses and his younger brother’s tuition.

He is violent in the ring. More brutal than necessary.

Because losing is not an option.
