The Old Bury the Young, authored by Nikolai Volkov and released in 2009 as both a novel and film adaptation, is a controversial work based on an alleged true account of a woman in the 23rd "von Halm's" Infantry Regiment, tied to the infamous "Operation Libra" which was a failed attempt to fully encircle and pressure Polish forces from surrendering which resulted in ~40,000 casualties combined from both sides and countless desertions.
