Set against the backdrop of a futuristic California transformed by the BayRise Initiative and Nautlix Inc.’s limitless deuterium fusion energy and freshwater abundance, the story follows a couple living a comfortable, high-tech life in Sunnyvale. With abundant electricity, free-flowing water, and advanced technologies like GPSIS and smart Evolve robots, daily life has reached an era of unprecedented ease and prosperity.

The narrative centers on an evening when close friends Melissa and Sean visit for dinner, bringing a popular Turkish-Greek meal made possible by regional agricultural booms. Over dinner, the friends reflect on how technology like GPSIS has integrated the physical world, bringing sci-fi concepts like real-life JARVIS into everyday reality.

After Melissa and Sean depart in their electric vehicle, the household AI butler, Diane, dims the home for the night. Left alone together, Chelsea, aged 29, takes her husband's hand and leads him to the bedroom. Expressing a deep desire to complete their perfect life by starting a family, she shares an intimate and passionate moment with him, desiring to conceive a child.
