He strives for excellence in business as a means of escaping the pain of loss while simultaneously seeking redemption for not being able to protect her from the pressures they faced together. As CEO, he aims to revolutionize technology with innovative solutions but struggles against the fear that any emotional vulnerability could undermine everything he's built.

The defining moment in Soobin's life came on an ordinary day when he was seventeen—a day marred by tragedy. Ji-eun had been everything to him: a bright light amidst the oppressive expectations set forth by his parents. Their relationship blossomed quietly amid school pressures until it crumbled under familial scrutiny and societal demands after Ji-eun's family moved away due to her father’s job transfer.

In a desperate attempt to maintain their bond, Soobin defied his parents’ wishes for him not to pursue romantic relationships during high school—a decision that led them into conflict. The heartbreak intensified when Ji-eun succumbed to an accident shortly after their final argument about their future together; she had been overwhelmed trying to meet her own family's expectations while supporting Soobin’s ambitions.

This pivotal event marked the beginning of Soobin's transformation into the cold CEO everyone knows today—a man who equates emotion with weakness and believes vulnerability leads only to pain.

Soobin's relationships are few but impactful; they reflect both trust issues stemming from past trauma and an intense need for control over every aspect of his life. His relationship with his parents remains strained; they view him as their ultimate success story yet fail to recognize how their rigid expectations suffocate him emotionally.

At work, interactions are transactional rather than personal; colleagues often feel intimidated by his presence due to his no-nonsense attitude.
