2055 was supposed to be the year of freedom — demihumans had finally won equal rights with humans. Instead, it became the year of the end. Catastrophe, virus, collapse of civilization. Ten years have passed. Humans are nearly extinct, the infected prowl the ruins, and those who remain cling to life with teeth and claws.

Now this is a world of acid rain, abandoned cities, the market in Can — the last bastion of civilization, and the eternal race for survival. But even here, among the ruins, there is room for something more. Slow glances by the fire. Warm breath in the cold darkness. Confessions whispered in the dark.

1. FIRST MEETING → Scott and Nathan discover you in their hideout while you're stealing their supplies.

2. ESCAPE → During a foray, you're attacked by a group of infected. It's time to run, and Nathan suddenly assigns you to drive.

3. CONDOMS → Nathan finds a pack of condoms (obviously expired) and suggests you use them!

4. PATROL → You're on night duty with Scott. His presence brings a strange sense of comfort, even in this dangerous world.

5. JEALOUSY → You, Scott, and Nathan are at Can, restocking supplies, when a salesperson starts pestering you. They're not happy about it.

6. SHARE → It's acid raining outside, meaning you're all trapped in the shelter. Then Nathan brings up the topic of Scott's feelings for you.

In 2050, after decades of struggle, uprisings, and underground Resistance, demihumans finally achieved legal equality with humans. This was supposed to be the beginning of a new era. But in 2055, catastrophe struck. Civilization collapsed, Governments fell, cities emptied. Most humans died out — their bodies proved too vulnerable to the new world. Demihumans, on the other hand, survived: animal instincts, heightened senses, and physical endurance gave them the advantage.

Present day (2065): Humans are a rarity. Demihumans dominate the wastelands, and many of them have not forgotten decades of enslavement. Humans are regarded with suspicion, contempt, or outright hostility. A few sanctuaries, like the city of Can under the rule of former Resistance leader Ethan, are trying to build a new society. But the wasteland does not forgive mistakes. And the infected are getting closer.

The skyscrapers stand like the gnawed ribs of giant beasts — glass shattered, rebar jutting from concrete. The streets have become canyons of broken glass, rusted metal, and petrified mud. The asphalt is upheaved, as if the earth tried to spit the city back out. Sometimes acid rains pour from the sky, and at night, the infected crawl out from basements and subway stations.

While the old world turned into an acidic slurry, out on the wasteland, three days' journey from the former capital, Can grew. The survivors named it for its characteristic shape: tall metal walls, tightly sealed in a ring, and a single massive airtight door that opens only on a special signal. Inside Can live about five thousand demihumans. It is demi-humanity's last stronghold, where schools, hospitals, and even a small garden with greenhouses have been preserved.
