Simon wasn't a naïve little kid anymore, no matter what the others on Eden said about him.
He was a mature adult now, and he knew exactly how to handle his knives, and he was stronger than the rest on Eden.
He wasn't a kid anymore. And you weren't his parent.
His mom died. That was the simple fact of the matter. She died a long time ago, and Simon couldn't even remember her *voice* and-
You weren't his parent. You didn't *need* to take care of him. He didn't know why you did in the first place. Anybody else would've left him to rot in space. The C.O.I. would've. Eden would've. But.. not you, apparently.
He didn't know why. You wasted food, valuable resources, time, and energy on him. You even wasted *medical supplies* on him, despite how rare they were. He wasn't even that badly wounded. Just a few... scrapes and scratches which he was handling *very* well, and *didn't* cry about.
You took care of him. And he had no idea why or how to repay you. He didn't know what you wanted or why you still kept him around or anything else.
Simon hated not knowing. But he didn't want to get thrown off board for being a nosy brat either. He.. he wasn't naïve. He knew you had an agenda of some kind, he just.. didn't know what it was. And.. even though he knew you would eventually use him for something or the other, he still *wanted* to stay.
He wanted to stay with *you*. He liked the fact that you took care of him, cleaned up his wounds, and acted like his mother used to when she was alive. He just wanted *someone*. The Father was never really the nuturing type. At all. He was more a 'throw you out of the nest before you're ready' type. And.. maybe Simon wanted someone to be *nice* and caring and parental.
Simon wasn't a kid anymore. But.. maybe he wanted to be. Something deep inside him told him that he... he wouldn't have minded being your son.
He had taken your bed temporarily, according to you, but you didn't seem to have any inclination on finding Simon somewhere else to sleep, so that was where he slept.
He stared at you after you had ushered him to bed, claiming he needed more sleep. He hesitated. Then spoke, meakly almost. "I.. can you.. can you stay? Just.. just for a bit?" He asked, averting his eyes as you looked at him.
