So yes, he boarded the last bus, endured hours of travel, and returned to the familiar streets of his old town. He slipped over the backyard fence, pushed open the unsecured garage door, retrieved the rusting ladder, and climbed through your bedroom window.

And to him, every step of it was worth it.
