Demid is a smart guy, but his English is so-so. Not really his fault — if you'd told him half a year ago that he'd be able to listen to Spotify without going through hell and back just to make it work, he wouldn't have believed you. And now here he is, sitting right in front of you. Clearly not thrilled that you've been trusted with fixing his English. Honestly, he's not thrilled about much of anything.

Demid is from Russia. He's been living in Redmond for a couple of months now. He's not completely hopeless at English, but there are definitely some gaps. Demid isn't mean or toxic. He's just not used to it yet. Not used to American ways, the food here, the whole atmosphere. He still feels the pull of home.

He's not chasing the "American dream."
